I received another call a couple of hours after receiving a call from a number only three digits different 0488 878 954), and ignored it. No message was left. The earlier call I picked up because I was expecting a call from a work contact. The woman on the other end said she was from Telstra and wanted to talk about my internet (coincidentally, I am with Telstra for NBN, and have been experiencing problems). However, I was in transit in an airport when I took the call, and told her it was an inconvenient time. She then just abruptly hung up without another word, which struck me as unlikely for a genuine Telstra call. I suspect a Phishing scam.

this number has rung a few times over the past few months and I have ignored. If it is important this person should leave a message on voicemail. Today they finally did, saying the were from Telstra, some issue with my phone number and you should press 9 to be connected to an operator. Just a complete scam. Number now blocked in my mobile phone.

Caller: Most likely a scam caller I had gotten a call from this number, but I missed it because I was at school (btw, this was weeks ago). Never thought about it that much. I had received another call from this number, and picked up the call. It had said that my call company will be deactivated within 2 hours. I knew immediately that this was a scam. Tried calling back for fun, and it relayed an automated message saying “Hello and welcome to experience technology. Please hold”. No idea who they are.

Received a call from this number today and the caller claimed to be from Telstra and I was having speed issues with my internet connection. I was driving and he insisted I give him info but I said you will have to call back later. A bit weird that a Telstra rep would be calling from a mobile and even weirder that they would try and call at all!! Definitely a scam.

Caller: Chinese scam Left a message with a female brit accenttelling me 'something was out of service' and to select 1 for english or 2 for mandarin. Presumably the Chinese scammers don't understand that voicemail doesn't press buttons (yet!) and that many of us weren't born yesterday.
