I think this is legitimate. I actually got an overdue bill. But I think the 1800 will not be a free call if called from a mobile. It's just a bit strange that when i picked up the phone there was that long pause before I get connected to someone and he had an Indian accent.

same- recieved message re credit control for telstra account- don't have credit issues at all- scammers obviously, and didn't identify company until after giving ph no to call etc- bogus

Just go a call. Came in as blocked number. Same story. When I queried which bill they didnt even know the difference between Telstra and Big Pond. Then they couldn't get off the line quick enough. Call back?? no chance.!

Got the same message saying call back about overdue account. Telstra actually uses a robocall system for overdue bills that asks you to confirm details and enter account number.

just had a call from these peanuts saying they were from Telstra and having difficulty getting all my information up on their system, could I please call them back in 30 minutes...yeah right! Telstra need to put these numbers on their website so unsuspecting old folk dont get sucked in!!!

Message on answering maching: says they are form telstra, calling about overdue bill have not been with Telstra for at least 20 years and have had current number with Optus for jus over a year.
