Caller: No caller ID I had an automated voice message from No Caller ID saying to call back 1800 816 025 about my account usage so I called them back. It was a lady with a foreign accent and hard to understand. She wanted to verify it was me so sent me a text message with a code I had to give back to her. I went through the info and spoke about a better deal for me. She asked for my drivers licence number and expiry date which I thought was weird. Then she strangely asked how old I was and am I home alone. Very odd questions so I said I don’t want to go through with this purchase and sorry for wasting your time. I called the actual Telstra number 13

Caller: Maike Call and texts urgently re money owing. Don’t have a Telstra account and have called them on 132200 at least 6 times over 2 years and everytime they confirmed I owe them nothing and that they do not have any records of making contact with me. But the texts come from the same number as the legitimate Telstra texts I got from complaints dept so there must be some kind of hack/leak within. Scary to think they must be succeeding with some people

Caller: Chona supposedly from Telstra something Management - could not understand the strong accent. Calling about an account issue on both our telstra landline and my mobile (which is NOT on a telstra account!). When I check my Telstra home account online there is no payment due for some weeks, and no payment overdue.

I just got a call from this number. They asked to speak to someone who used to have my number a decade ago.(I confirmed this a while back when this happened then - I called Telstra and they confirmed that he previous owner of my number was the name used today). I guess "Raymond" still owes the debt collectors money. Telstra when contacted a few months back were very helpful by the way.

Please call us back at 1800 816 025 and ask for credit management about an overdue account (at least that is what I think was said on the voice mail). Clearly a scam as I no longer have any account with Telstra since going to NBN.

They're still at it! Called me several times and asked for accounts payable. Quoted an account number that I did not recognise (neither work or home) and said it was $58377.00 after initially saying $22k outstanding. I got suspicious when they would not say which company name the account was in - Telstra would surely know that!. I said I would check and get back to them. He gave me the 1800 816 025 call back number and employee id D806599. I will not call them back and will ignore "No caller id" calls for a while.

They are using a recorded message saying they are from Telstra and are calling about a problem with my account usage. They asked me to call 1800 816 025 to speak to someone to rectify the problem. I called Telstra on 132200 to query if it was a legitimate call and was told the call did not originate from Telstra. Telstra said they do not contact customers re problems with accounts or devices etc, the customer must call them when there is a problem. She gave me the number of the scam watch team to report the call to: 1300 795 995

Missed a call from a withheld number & the voicemail said it was Melissa from Telstra calling regarding an URGENT matter with our Telstra Account, call back on 1800 816 025. The lady was talking quickly on the msg & the number was unclear, so I dialled the number incorrectly (ending 325) which didn't work. I then googled the number & found this page, needless to say I wont be calling back

Received message requesting I call Telstra back urgently re account usage. Appeared as missed call message but I received no call. I worked for Telstra hence know they do not make contact this way. My accounts are in order as I separately checked. Very suspicious how they got info re me but I proved out it was a scam so this number should be avoided.

From a Telstra live agent:
"As I have checked your account, there was no interaction created here that we send you a message advising to call that number. I suspect that it is a scam."

I have had about 5 calls in the last week about my internet usage and account asking me to call 1800 816 025. I have just spoken to Telstra on 132200. They are not allowed to ring out from the call center unless its a follow up on a complaint or fault.
