NBN scammers.Told him I had fiber to the house (I don't). Gave him exaggerated download/upload speeds and very low ping (3). Was told low ping is bad??
How many times can you suggest that the caller is stupid without him realizing?
I told him to look at reverseaustralia while talking to him. He still did not get the message. Totally stupid! Scam Scam Scam

Caller: Jasmine claiming to be fron NBN.
The usual scam. I told her I would call her back. She gave number as 1800 687 626. Of course, I did not call her. By now you should know how the story goes.

Caller: Indian sounding lady
Advised that our area is having problems with copper internet connections and said they will upgrade for free as it was their problem. Then asked for $4 for delivery of the new mode. I was passed to 'her supervisor' and then back to her. I suggested that this sounded like a scam and they insisted that it wasn't. I then ask them to wait while I search then number and they got disconnected. They didn't call back.... sounds not right to me...

Claimed to be from NBN, wanting to give me higher speeds. Said her name was Christine, employee no. 86060. I said i wanted to call her back and she gave me this number. Then became abusive when i looked the number up, and quoted some of the comments i found. She then hung up. Definite scam.

Quoted my name Claimed to be from NBN to upgrade to fibre optic and increase speed. Gave me the call back number 1800 687 626 but said better to continue with call. Called from 0420 040 223 and asked for speed test. As I did the speed test I checked this site. I already have fibre optic to the modem in a smart wired house. Clicked the hang up button. If you are concerned about your internet speed call your provider or NBN yourself. Definitely a scam as having had many calls like this also on other times to be Telstra

Call from "NBN" David Paul (he had a very Indian accent so I doubt this was his name). Had all my personal details and said someone was trying to hack my internet and he has been getting warning signals. He asked me what devices I connect to with my internet and who have I given my password to? Then he asked me to connect to Team Viewer at which point I told him I was going to hang up and call them back. I have just looked at the NBN page which says they don't call you, your internet provider will call you if there is a problem. He said he was in Sydney but the number was from Melbourne.

Caller: Apparently NBN Telstra
Claimed to upgrade my NBN FTTN to fibre optic and they were going to post a new modem to me and a woman was going to visit my property to connect. His name was "Peter Lee", Indian speaking gentleman. Gave me this phone number. Said no fee whatsoever, except maybe a delivery fee for the modem. I hung up. 15 mins later NBN Telstra phoned again wanting me to do a speed test as a technician was working on my NBN speed. Told her my computer was broken. When I wouldn't do this on my mobile phone, she threatened to cut off my internet connection. What a joke.

Claimed he was from NBN Security Department told me I have 7 security issues on my NBN account. Asked do I send money overseas or have overseas contacts. When I asked him for his phone number 1800 687 626 and his name Alex Wilson, he started raising his voice at me and asking me why I don't trust him.

Mobile number called my home number, said they were from Telstra and that our Broadband was being upgraded to fibre optic to allow faster speed. Asked me to do a speed test - as I work from home, I asked if I could call back later. they gave me 1800 687 626 to call back, asked what time roughly I would call back. Asian sounding female. Needless to say after reading comments on here and googling, I will not be calling back.

Claimed to be a technician from NBNco. Initial caller asked to to a speed test before transferring to technician (Michael) who asked me to install TeamViewer on my laptop and AnyDesk on my phone. He asked for the ID and password, which I would not provide, and wanted to lock in an appointment for another technician to come to the house, which I declined.
BIG SCAM. NBN doesn't call about things like this:

Second time I have received a call from these scammers, proclaiming to be from NBN.
They are trying so hard to get into my home to supposably update my modem. I played along sounding so surprised and worried that my modem needed an upgrade.
They knew my postcode and street name 😡 and wanted to send the technician around immediately after my package arrived that I needed to sign! I asked Jennifer Olsen ( not her real name) for her ref# she replied with NBN52698897 as her employee #.
When she asked how old my modem was, I replied ‘Well you should know because you are the one telling me it needs to be upgraded because it’s old, she asked me again, is it more than 6months old? I replied again with ‘‘Well you should know because you are the one telling me its old’
She then called me stupid and hung up 😆
