Caller: A woman first and then a "Technician" asking me to do a speed test, then he said my test was very low. He then suggested I connect to www.anydesk.com it would be able to check my modem and tell me why my NBN speeds were so Slow.
We know what is wrong with my modem and why my speeds are so Low. We are connected by Copper Cables, Not by the Fiber Optics Cables which are needed to get the speeds we were told the NBN would bring. This was a SCAM. Trying to get me to connect to their system .

Had modem problems over a few months with my NBN thru Telstra, but all good for past few weeks! The received an unsolicited call from people (Alex Martin) purporting to be upgrading my NBN line / wanted my internet download speed & said they would improve. After asking me to log into nbnupgrade.unaux.com, which is a highly suspect site - though purports to be NBN (& includes the genuine NBN 1800 687 626 number). Scroll to bottom of page & it's nothing to do with NBN, with US addresses. While he was on hold, i rang my son - an IT manager @ a school, & very quickly shut the conversation down & hung up, rebooted the modem & deleted the anydesk.exe file i was asked to download. MORAL OF THE STORY: If you have problems with your NBN, call / write NBN directly or your provider (in my case Telstra); & block that number on your phone. (The scam number that contacted me was (03) 4334 1948, Bakery Hill, near Ballarat, but I'm sure they change continually!)

Cold call (from non Australian) asked me to log on to nbnupgrade.unaux.com - obviously scammers. Suggested they could improve my speeds and services. I exaggerated my speed by two time and it was still to slow?? Gave 1800 687 626 as a call back. At least I wasted 20 minutes of their time. Idiots said they would block land line, internet, mobile and iPad. PS still working as I was able to submit this comment. Ha Ha

Someone rang my 91yo Mum today and pushed for her to give them her credit card details despite the upgrade of her modem being free. The tech will be there on this day at this time, ID number... just like all the reports above me. Why are they still getting away with it? Luckily Mum is smart enough not to give card details to an unknown voice on the phone.

Rang yesterday and told me a technician is coming giving me his name Robert William and badge number 4456 and he will fix our landline. He had our address correct but the name of the resident is in numbers and told me that it was our fault giving wrong information. He threatened me that our landline, internet and mobile services will be cut off. We get a lot of calls from NBN almost everyday. Can someone do anything about this?

My parents had a call (not sure of the number) and said they needed a technician to come out to replace their modem. They said they were to send Peter Wilson nbn5571 number 1800 687 626. Asked for bank account details. Threatened to shut off their phone and internet in 10 mins. Definitely a scam.

Bloody scammers
Only been at this new residence for 3 months and they've started already.
Called sating from nbn telstra.
How do I pay my bills...
At the post office or credit card..
none of your business as long as it gets paid
Download speed test and how many devices connected...
Fibre optic cable needs to be upgraded..
Ummm no it was only installed 4 weeks ago so I don't think it needs to be upgraded..
When I questioned him about anything he told me not to worry as he was the nbn technician and his supervisor will sort it all out.
I told him I will call back and
Gave me the 1800 687 626

Caller: Henry from NBN (or so he said)
This person phoned me earlier in the day to say that I could get a free NBN upgrade, I said I was busy and I wasn't interested and I would speak with Telstra. Several hours later he called again, asked me how many lights were showing on the modem then asked me to check my line speed. Again I said I was busy, he wanted to call me back but I said I would call him back so he gave me this phone number. I checked my last text from Telstra advising I qualified for a free upgrade, gave me an 1800 number to call on which was different to this one. The text warned of scams so this was definitely a scam. If anyone from this number calls, hang up and don't engage with them, call your ISP/NBN provider for upgrade details.

Called my home number from (03) 9340 8188. He then did the NBN technician coming to upgrade our line after a report of static spiel. All a load of BS of course.
Even gave me the Techo's number of 1800 687 626 and even an NBN job number!!
Pushing hard to get my mobile number so they could text me when they were coming. No way Jose.
After about 7 minutes of playing along I decided to give him the old click and it was all over. After checking on here to confirm my gut feeling, glad to have given him nothing.

Same as above. Wanted to upgrade my service to fibre. (It already is) . Wanted to charge me $5.99 which I refused and hung up. Call originally came from (07) 4604 4469, After I hung up got calls from (07) 4222 4580 and 0432 165 699 which I did not answer. They had my name and address which could have easily be found in the phone book. Made no mention of my carrier, which is suspicious as the carrier supplies the modem.

They called saying they were going to upgrade my home phone and internet to fibre to the premises the technician would be Mark William ID: NBN29929TC and he will be there between 10 and 12 on Thursday 17/11/2022. Gave me the 1800 687 626 for call backs. Said they need to have a package delivered before the day and wanted me to pay the $6.50 for delivery. I told him I didn't have a credit card because my account had been hacked on the weekend and it had been cancelled and I was waiting for a new one. So he said he will call back next week to organise it all again. Problem he now has is that I wasn't the person he was looking for. He rang my shared work number and someone else will likely answer and have no idea what he is on about. Idiot scammers.

Indian sounding voice, female, English difficult to understand. Claimed: to be from NBN, people upgrading modems on our area, our modem needs upgrade because connection fluctuating, want appointment for technician to visit and install. I asked for their number 1800 687 626 then they hung up without saying goodbye. Conclusion: Scam, unconvincing, unprofessional, learn English and honesty, and I blessed those who cursed.

Indian sounding guy identifying himself from NBN service centre who knows my name and address. Explained that NBN was upgrading my voice land line from copper cable to fibre optic for connection to the modem. To do that they need a send out a technician, Peter Wilson id# 556198PW and to make an appointment for his attendance offering me 3 dates and time. He offered the phone number 1800 687 626 as a NBN contact in case there were changes. Parts for the job will be delivered to my address before date of technician attendance. He then passed me to his supervisor Steven Maxwell who wanted my email address to send an invoice $6.45 to register the new equipment. Only payment by card is accepted but the invoice has no payment details. He insisted he needed my card details to charge me immediately or threaten to disconnect my internet access there and then, where upon I smelt a rat. It is nothing more than a scam to get your financial details.
