Brett Rogers from 'In Safety Publications' ABN: 87 133 899 706 rang 1300 475 765) to confirm my advert booking in the 'Health and Safety Gazette', when he sent through the fax it was an advertising contract not an invoice. I hadnt agreed to advertise at all. Do not pay these people and report their activity. Same tactics were used as I have read here, pay now and get a discount etc....

I have had 3 calls telling me I agreed to running this advertising back in July, one for $550, one for $695 & now today another for $440. How do you get rid of them???

I received an unsolicited email supposedly from Renee Harwood from Workforce Publications (headed "SAFETY IN INDUSTRY"). There was an advertising contract for $660 (incl GST). I ignored the email but my business had several calls. I called back. Renee Hardwood was out of the office. Thanks to this website I was aware of what was going on. When I received another call I told "Renee" that it is a scam and not to call again. The usual lie about me having committed to this advertising previously was treated with the contempt it deserved. The number was 1800 282 252

Recieved another phone call from Mandi Smith Family & Welfare Review Presscom P/L 1800 061 348 looking for payment, which I told her I wasn't paying as a scam,Warned her not to phone again or send bill as the matter is in the hands of my lawyer and gave her his number. She hasn't contacted him and she is still calling my business but I'm not taking her calls. WE need to know where we stand considering we have been scammed into signing and paying, what are our rights and how do we deal with them legally....

I have had Georgia Wilson call me with the same lines! Claiming back in JUNE we had booked in a tiny 90mm x 32mm ad and its going to cost us $500 and it is to late to pull out! This is the biggest scam out and think more people need to know about it! They used the 'publication' Kid's Saftey news!

Bloody hell.... i received a call from these guys, they got me for $550... got another call today from another crowd, the sentences were identical ! there running multiple angles and im pissed off that i was got !

A company called Amalgamated Media rang my boss and said that his account is overdue. ABN 65 111 507 049 Phone number 1300 302 683 Address PO Box 1311 Bondi Junction NSW 1355. Same ABN as Pernici Pty Ltd. Asked for a copy of the magazine apparently advertised in previously or the next edition. Nothing - Rang them to see what their details were or website address - still nothing. Going to ignore o/due reminders. Thank you for the heads up.

Volunteer Workers Review sent me artwork for approval via a company called First Voice Pty Ltd, ABN 19 148 099 905. It is registered at the same address as Mainline Media, mentioned previously.

Keep getting calls from Pam Crosby wanting to speak to our practicioners. We have called and asked them to stop calling as we are not interested two to three weeks ago, but now they are calling wanting to speak to one of our other practitioners!!! They are relentless. Called back today and asked them to stop calling a very rude smart arse receptionist was extremly unhelpful and arrogant and said she would pass the message on.

Volunteer Workers Review another scam, I got a fax one day out of the blue to approve advertising for this magazine which they called me to say I had approved 4 months ago.

I told them that I only advertise with the Police Journal and the Paramedics Journal and they told me they were the same company, when I questioned them why they publish in QLD they told me it was cheaper.

I should have known but signed the fax and returned it but had an awful feeling so I called the Police journal admin and they told me it was a scam dont send any money, luckily I didnt!

Today I got a bill from them that I owe money, it will be returned "NOT AT THIS ADDRESS".

Just got off the phone with an Alice Sullivan from Presscom. Same tactics used. Claims representing Awareness for Kids. She even tried to tell me I had 25 minutes to approve artwork before it went to print. Get in now and my ad will be towards front of the publication. What a joke. Be aware of Presscom

Now they are getting students from Tafe in Queensland to call u to see if you advertise in any community books in Melbourne,(I have a assignment to do for Tafe. LIAR LIAR) then 2 days later someone call about you advertising & that you need to pay. The uni students call about every couple of weeks at the moment we have figured it all out & now we either hung up or give them a serve.

yes they called saying the ad was ready for proofing, when I said I hadnt seen it and wanted proof it was even agreed to, they said a copy would be faxed and nothing was ever sent though. Then for payment they said they would send through a copy and again nothing was sent. We called back the person had left the office

Be warned these creeps are persistant. All the sales people have the same pitch. "My management wishes to personally thank you for your past support", "refer to your commitment made in September last year", "understand that this is the last time you will support then we will remove you from our records" etc. The Advertising Proofs are direct from your website. They appeal to your sense of community spirit. The invoice is "not a bill, you are not required to pay any money". This obviously gets them around the law in terms of conning you out of money. Got taken once, never again. Maybe the ACCC should investigate this scam, they are not doing anything for Petrol!!
