Got a text from 0438 717 587 to call 1800 111 888 to confirm cancellation of Bupa membership. Got suspicious right away and found out this was a scam. Now how the hell did these scumbags know I cancelled my membership?

Caller: Bupa I received a text message from 0438 717 587 asking to call 1800 111 999 to discuss my request to cancel my Bupa policy.
I called the number - while I was speaking with someone I decided to hang up and call Bupa on 134 135 from their website - they were able to confirm for me that this was a genuine number and had record of my discussion with the 1800 number.
Bottom line: This is a GENUINE number. This is NOT A SCAM.

Caller: Bupa Scam I got the same text from 0438 717 587 straight after my cancellation of policy at Bupa and asking me to call 1800 111 999 to discuss my request to cancel my policy. Luckily I check about it before I called. These scumbags are really cheeky! It irritates me no end!

Caller: Claims to be Bupa, but is a scam My experience is similar to Meg. Received an unsolicited text to call this number about 2 hours after cancelling a Bupa policy. Called Bupa on their public listed number and they are aware of it and confirmed it is a scam.

Caller: Bupa It is a Bupa number.
I did receive a text message asking me to call this number after they had received my cancellation request. I switched to another policy and the representative informed me that everything had been done and I would receive a form to complete via email. Later I contacted Bupa at 134135 and they confirmed all the changes to my policy had been processed and I did received an email from Bupa.

Not a Bupa number but Bupa would have given out your details to this scammer to text you to call them on 1800 111 999. If you want to call Bupa, only use the numbers they published on their web site.

BUPA has confirmed that this is not a legitimate BUPA number. They also try to call and leave messages from (03) 9487 6448 and ask you to call back on 1-800-819-012. Also a scam.
