Just got a call from this number claiming to be Google Accounts regarding our Adwords account.
I suspect its a scam as I am pretty sure that Google would email me first before shutting my account

The call is indeed from Google. The Google in India handles the Adwords support and optimization hence the callers are obviously Indians. If you call back the same number it will lead to the support team who will redirect you to the Adwords team which is a long process. So, we are given a number to return the call - 1800 089 619.
If you are skeptical about the call ask them to send an email, if the email address has @google.com they are from Google, if it does not they are not from Google - as simple as that.

Just got a call from this number, sounded Indian... saying "your Adwords account needs urgent attention because you are paying far more than you need to." Sounds like a telemarketer from an Adwords co. to me. Why would Google want me to spend less?

Rude woman called demanded I give her access to Google Adwords account. Refused to clarify name. Called from (02) 8278 4439 and said callback number was 1800 089 619 EXT 0771001

Called and asked about a few EEs and wanted their details however it sounded suspect. Wanted to know if EEs he mentioned still worked here and said it was in regards to google ad words.

Got a call out of the blue from an Indian sounding woman called Sravani saying she was my Adwords account strategist. The number appeared as a local (NZ) number. Before giving me any credentials she asked for my Adwords account number. She knew some of the ad groups I had set up in Google but wanted me to click a google hangouts link so I could share my screen with her and she could tell me how I could improve my adspend. She said she was based in India, but while I was on the phone I googled the number she had called from and it came up under a number of "spam call" references. Google also couldn't find any reference to a "Sravani" at "Google" in "India". I asked her to email me with her credentials. The email had "@google.com" in it, but her email had a number of typos and looked nothing like correspondence I'd previously received from other people from Google (Australia). The number she supplied to call her back on is not listed on: https://www.adwordsrobot.com/en/list-of-google-adwords-support-phone-numbers (although I'm not sure how up to date that page is). If it is a spam call how could she know the ad groups I had set up, or where they lucky guesses?

Called asking for manager to call back as our Adwords account was spending too much and needed verification to receive a lower rate. I didn't call back as it seems like a scam. The person refused to hold to speak to manager. Strange. Usually Google emails if there is an issue.

Scammer continually calling our business Lying saying they're a Google account manager.

100% scam. Caller's name is Varsha

Claiming to be AdWords calling from (02) 3278 4439 under the name of Prianko, sounded Indian, she gave 1800 089 619 to call her back. Yet the line she was calling from was (02) 3278 4439 and it was disconnected when I called, go figure!!!

Person called one of my businesses claiming to be Google.

They are not google, they are a scammer. I have contacted Google. They said they are aware of the situation and have filed a report (Which probably means they dont care haha)

Woman called by the name of Vardini (?) about some adwords account saying one of my colleagues had scheduled a call with her. Definitely Scam and definitely not Google
