My grandson has a prepaid master card through flexischools and has 2x charges from Amazon prime for $6.99 each on 1st and then 4th August. He has no account & obviously is a minor.
Reference on those charges is

Frightening how vulnerable & insecure our online funds are becoming as is days after my adult son had $2,750 stolen from his online bank account..

Someone from Amazon Prime and a purchase has been made on my account which I do not have.

Same thing happened to me.today. scary thing is people on Herr complained in 2021. It's 2024. And it's still happening. Guessing whoever is scamming us is laughing to the bank

'Amazon Prime AU' charge of $9.99 was taken out of my card. Not the real Amazon - I contacted them and my bank and both of them confirmed it to be a scam, if you get this charge, lock your card and replace it immediately

Charged $9.99 for Amazon Prime with account showing as linked to the 1800 064 122 will dispute transaction with bank. No idea how they are managing to access card details and charge as a dodgy Amazon Prime account that doesn't exist. Lock your card if it happens to you.

CBA App notified me of a charge for $9.99 on my credit card. Supposedly Amazon Prime membership. I don’t even have an Amazon account. Cancelled card and contacted bank to dispute this.

This number was on multiple emails regarding purchases on my Amazon account. This is an Indian call centre.

Unauthorised prime membership ($9.99x4) charged on my newly activated St George visa credit card. Bank flagged them and altered me. Searched the charge reference number and I landed here. Thank you all for reporting it.

This showed in my commbank app. Its not even amazon. Called Amazon and they said they don't have a charge for my card for 79$. someones impersonating amazon au and taking money. Remove your cards from amazon. Calling comm bank now. Hopefully they will refund. I cancelled my card.

They charge me just to login with Amazon Australia and they I got receipts that I paid $59 for Amazon prime .
This should be investigated why making people fool without any touching you get prime Amazon.
