I have been receiving calls from this company a it turns out through investigation it was a mistake by AGL which is now sorted out but these people are so bad its not funny they just call say your name and leave a phone number and reference number they have no customer service what so ever if you get calls investigate further.

Excellent information, I have just started dealing with this company, after an alledged illegal listing on my credit file was reported in 2015 and I just found out about it now.

An interesting FACT is, if you send this company a registered letter to there registered business address, requesting them to not call you, by law I believe they are obliged to comply. After you have done this the can only call you to confirm they have recieved the request!!! GOLD!

I moved into a house and have been assigned a number by Telstra that these arrogant pricks think is someone else's. It doesn't matter how often I tell them that the number is mine and the person they are after is unknown to me, they just wait a few weeks and try again. Does anyone know how I can sue them for wasting my time and not putting a note on the file that the number has been re-assigned

I always ask for them to prove who they are before I give over payment details and they always give a false name.

Ignore this comment as its Panthera Company mole. Know the law, it is illegal for any company to buy your debt no matter who it belongs to as theres a contract between you and the debt holder. The debt holder is required to take you to court for the debt not them. Also the owners of this company are very clever they have come from poverty to generating 1.86 million a year by stealing money, not collecting money on behalf of companies settling debts.

You can make complaints about them to ACCC and ASIC

Getting letters from Panthera to my address, a name similar to mine but not mine. Rang them saying this is not me, never had this account you seem to think I owe. All they do is demand info from me and I feel they are scammers. In order to provide proof of correspondence I will only deal with them via E-mail, as I do not trust them. Every email takes two weeks+ to get back to me after I give them what they want. Something is not right with this group. Very unprofessional.

so get a letter stating I owe $800 on a savings account I closed 3 years ago. How does that work? Went to the bank and they know nothing about it and said that I have not banked with them for over 3 years! Um hello flogs

Interestingly I called back this company from my private number. At no time did I disclose my number to them. Today (6 days later) I had a message from Panthera requesting a call back. I then tested my number by ringing my mobile phone - sure enough it comes up as private! So how do Panthera's phone systems identify my private number??? I rang back and asked them and was told they don't have specific technology to identify the private numbers BUT private numbers do identify on their system.
I'll be following this up with my phone provider immediately and seeking compensation for breach of privacy!!

That's rubbish. Why do I need to go to a JP when they have made a mistake, or in our case, calling someone who no longer owns the phone. I've told them to stop, and if I get one more call from them I will consider it harassment and will contact the relevant authorities. They've been calling us for months and the person concerned has no outstanding debts as he checked with the bank concerned.

I received a letter from these guys asking a payment for Gas bill 5 years old, and the best thing is I haven't been even living there. stupid!

Very rude. Misinformed and basically ripped off by the on seller. That's what they do, buy debts, legitimate or not and bully people into paying. Often these "debts" are not real. But it doesn't stop these guys. Should just be shot.

I have just received a letter from Panthera Finance asking for money from an Optus account that has been closed for 4 years. There has been no correspondence regarding this so called existing debt until now. Good people to contact are the consumer action law centre, who offer free legal advice.
