This phone number is legit! I noticed fraudulent activity on my card but it was late at night, so i decided to just call my bank in the morning and then i noticed i had a missed call from this number and a voice message saying they want to confirm transactions that were on my card. i called back and thought it was a scam as they straight away asked for my card number before saying anything else. After doing more research, i noticed this number was linked to my bank account (Credit Union Australia CUA) and multiple others under "report unauthorised transactions". I called back and was told that someone has made multiple failed attempts (and successful attempts) to buy stuff on my card. PLEASE CALL THIS NUMBER BACK (OR YOUR BANK!!) to get this sorted ASAP!

This is a genuine company. I entered the exp date wrong at a checkout and tried processing the payment several times, which locked my card for "suspected fraud". After being transferred to these guys via my bank, they only asked for my CC number, and after a quick explanation and investigation, they fixed the issue in under a minute. Still, I would urge everyone to check with their financial institution BEFORE making any calls to unknown companies regarding their cards.

This is definitely NOT a scam. Got a SMS from my bank advising that there had been attempted fraudulent transactions on my debit card. I checked the number out on my bank's website and it is legitimate. Called the number and I was asked for details such as my date of birth and email address (which they have on record). For reference, this is so that they can confirm Proof of Record Ownership. They are dealing with your money and so must be certain that they are talking to the correct person. It does not automatically indicate a scam if you are asked for information like this.

This seems like a legitimate company that provides fraud monitoring for a number of banks. My card was getting blocked and I was redirected to this number after ringing my bank to ask why. It was a false alarm and they unblocked my card but this was a legitimate number that my bank provided my to call for help.

"Hi Its a messaged for: my name (but spelt incorrectly) from CACU. please call 1300 705 750 to confirm some transactions on your card ending (?) in double (?)."
I did call, but was asked for my card number which I declined to give, so was asked for account number. I said I would contact my CU.

While there are scams being done by people claiming to be Vigil Fraud Bureau, the same website (tmbank.com.au) says they use the services of Fraud Bureau, with that (legit) phone number. Hang up and call that number, they say:
---
We have been made aware of scam calls being made to cardholders by people identifying themselves as Vigil Fraud Bureau employees.
The Fraud Bureau service will ask identifying questions, to ascertain that they are talking to the correct people, one of these questions may be your card number.
If you are unsure of the authenticity of the call, you are to hang up and ring back the toll free number of 1300 705 750 or (02) 8299 9534 (if overseas) to clarify that they need to speak to you.

This is not a scam.
They are an Australian Fraud detection company.
I had a missed call from them. I called my bank (AMP) and they confirmed that this was the number of their fraud department.
Seems my credit card had been compromised and they were able to cancel it and order a new card for me.
Don't ignore them.
If you are unsure call your bank and seek confirmation from them.

A SCAM - definiteIy!! I received a call from this number today. They left a message saying my credit card was on hold and that I had to call back with my membership number. They knew my first name, the last 4 digits of my card and rang my unlisted mobile. I rang the number back but something about the recorded message made me feel uncomfortable, so I rang my bank. I was told it was not their fraud line and nothing was out of order with my account or card. I am hoping my bank reports it. Very scary.

Not a scam, blocked a US transaction from an online company. Small amount that they call a testing transaction to see if the card works. Getting a new card sent out. My bank said it was legit and they were also in the phone call.

1300 705 750 is the direct line to the Financial Institution Cuscal Ltd, They offer fraud and card monitoring services 24/7 Australia wide for a multitude of banks and credit unions. They are a legitimate company and it would be in most peoples best interests to return the call as they likely leave blocks on the card they are querying. If in doubt it is always best to contact your own financial institution and say you received a call from the vigil fraud team.
Hope this eases some worries, if you are experiencing any issues with your card its likely they are preventing transactions until they verify the transaction in question.

I got a call from them saying there was fraudulent activity on my card, it seemed scammy, so I did what everyone should do: I RANG MY BANK, using their general phone number. They were happy to check the number out, and in this case it turned out to be legit. But don't trust a random off the internet, just ring your bank.
