Received text:
To keep your account safe, we need your additional card/joint account holder to verify their personal information via the St.George App or Internet Banking, or by visiting their nearest branch.
It's important they do this by 11 November 2024, or we may restrict your account. For more info, call us on 1300 663 578. If they've already actioned this request, please ignore this message.
Thanks, Your St.George team

Caller: I called. Hoping this might help someone.
Received a letter in the mail, this was the number to call. This is a legitimate number. It's the St George Secure ID team.
However in saying this, always be careful, scammers may try spoofing the number.

Caller: Bank SA Received an SMS on 5/12/2024 to verify my ID, update my employment, income and contact details. The message told me to do it online on their website or on their app and if I needed assistance, to call the phone number. It said it's important to confirm my details by 11/11/2024 but that time had gone. Just to make sure this wasn't from a scammer I called the main Bank SA phone number and they verified it was sent from them and is not a scam.

I believe this to be a scam. No bank would ask for you to update your employment and income details to verify your identity.

Caller: St George The message I receiver Werke via SMS and E-Mail, using my first Name. The message was very similar to the ones above. When I did not respond, i received the same message and E-Mail again after a week even though I reported this to St George Scam Watch. After reading all the comments above, I do believe this is scam. Who would ask for employment and wage details. I think that's already a give-away that this is scam. Will now block sender.

Claimed to be from St George requesting I update employment and income details or my account would be restricted. I received a similar email. My spouse is a signatory to all the same accounts at St George but received no such notifications. Nor others I know who bank with St George. All looks legit EXCEPT the phone number they ask you to call.
