I have just had an SMS (with France Int. Prefix +33, sent from number +33048749882) telling me my QANTAS flight has been cancelled and to call this 1300 number - this is currently under investigation. Coincidentally I have a QANTAS flight booked. I am not flying for a few days, and there is no other information about my flight being cancelled online. The SMS did not give the flight number, so I believe it is a (sophisticated?) scam. This 1300 number was previously used as a notification number by QANTAS in 2011 during a strike, so it appears somewhat legitimate. I will update shortly.

Had this text today - same as Todd advises above. Legitimate, but odd!

I have been in touch with QANTAS, apparently the SMS and message are legitimate, just poorly phrased and from a non-standard source (French source +33?!?). My apologies for identifying it as a scam.
