This is the number which was on a fake letter from Vodafone saying my mum's service will be cut off. It looks reasonably legit but she had never had an account with Vodafone and there are small details which are not quite right - phishing scam I reckon

Message also had a link to pay online http://vfau.co/mklex or call 1300 650 405. I am with Vodafone and they confirmed it was a scam.

Caller: *vodaphone* I've had four messages in four days (the phone has been switched off) to call vodaphone URGENTLY and quote account no. 920292***. I called it from a silent number and it goes to Vodaphones billing dept with 4 options, but you can't progress unless you put your mobile number in. I didn't. So I don't know if its a scam or someone has used this number to open an account or what has happened.

Caller: 1300 650 405 I had a recorded message from this number saying they are urgently looking for Jason and please ring back on this number which is the 1300 650 405 and quote a/c number (07) 8045 3361, the problem is I am on Optus and have had the number for around 7 years and have never been with Vodaphone.

Received several calls from this number and answered none of them. The voicemail messages have ranged from unprompted hold music that plays for 30 seconds and hangs up, robotic voice speaking Mandarin, silence and a recorded message that includes a robotic recording of my first name followed by the usual ' this is vodafone, call us on 1300 650 405 quoting random account number to resolve' message.
I have asked vodafone in person about this and they said it was likely a scam.

Someone left a message on my voicemail looking for a person with a different name and said that they urgently need to phone them back re my Vodafone account and they provided an account number to quote. I used to be an old Vodafone user many years ago and thought it was sus so googled the number and it lead me to this site. Scam it is.

I've gotten texts for a while now saying things like my account is overdue ect ect, problem is IM NOT EVEN WITH VODAFONE!! AND NEVER HAVE BEEN. HAHA definitely something fishy going on guys. I guess its in the hopes that some people they send this out too are with vodafone and believe it. Be careful guys and double check with your provider if you suspect anything.

I also got the same message from "7018"...
"Your account remains overdue. To avoid pending recovery action please call 1300 650 405 to arrange payment of your account."
I called the number from a land-line and it continually asked for a mobile or account number to be entered although I still don't know who is asking for this info.
Very dodgy!!

I got this message today also. Have reported it online to scam watch (gov) but have oustanding bill with Vodafone my previous provider. I called the number and they wanted my four digit pin and assured me it wasnt a scam. I told them they have all my details there and to email me to the address they have on the system my outstanding details. They said they couldn't without the 4 digit pin. Indians on that number. I terminated call - something very wrong there!
