I have received 3 notices of outstanding payments totalling $1720.00 to the Australian Taxation Office from Dun & Bradstreet (Australia) Pty Ltd. Phone number 1300 315 994. I then rang the ATO and they confirmed I had no outstanding debt with their office. After asking questions about the letter they recorded the details to submit to their fraud department. A reference number was given to assure me the matter had been discussed and resolved from their end.

I can't understand why nothing has been done to shut this scam down. How many innocent people have already fell victim to this illegal scheme and parted with their hard earned cash.

Sent text message claiming they are from Dun & Bradstreet asking to call the number asap due to an urgent matter

Claiming to be a company acting for the ATO...Now if the tax office wanted to contact us it would be via a letter... suss. They rang at 8.15am this morning.

Is there a chance to report them and my money back?

they called me. They are not scammers. they are listed here on the ATO website debt collectors list https://www.ato.gov.au/General/Paying-the-ATO/If-you-don-t-pay/
You can ask the caller for their employment ID and call reference and check it out before giving info. they are trying to collect outstanding taxes for the ATO and I'm all for it.

Debt collection agency can act on behalf of the ATO

This is not a scammer, but they do need to tell you who they are. They are a collection agency contracted by the ATO, among other things I imagine. I'd put them off by refusing to give personal details until you've spoken with the ATO about whatever matter has triggered the D&B involvement.

I had this call today claiming acting on behalf of ATO and they were from Dun & Bradstreet relating to an urgent matter in regards a name they had half correct but not totally. Beware I called their bluff and said ATO doesn't make personnal calls that's when they said they were from Dun & Bradstreet.
So glad I remembered this way to check so people BEWARE!!!!!
