I received this text and called them. they are collections. The number is real, apparently I owe money to paypal. I had a negative on my account about a week ago and i paid money to it. After i received this text I looked online to see what the hell it was about. i LOGGED into my paypal account before I called them and I am on a positive balance. So I called them, taking on the info i have read here and when i spoke to the "account manager" apparently i had to provide my address and email address. Which I refused to give them without even being told how much i apparently owe, I grilled the chick on the phone to find out what it is. I gave her my surname and she asked if i was known by a nickname..I advised her (the call apparently is recorded) that I have read the text, I went on the internet to check my paypal and i DO NOT owe anything (still not aware why she called) and located some feedback regarding this text and contact number and I advised i will NOT provide her my personal details as there is no proof this is legit.. and basically hung up!

Im sick of these scam calls I am recieving from different places almost daily! I have put my number in the list do not call list and its only gotten worse!!!!!!

Nothing received or called back and after reading stuff on net blocked the number!

I bought a new sim card and number and received a text three days after it was connected. So I know it's not anything to do with me. The text advises it is my last chance to stop escalation of a personal business matter. It gives a reference number and 1300 number.

Got a text from ARL saying they needed to speak to us re a matter related to paypal and to call the number above.
Given the 1 a day on 2 phones calls from paypal perhaps they have onsold the details to this mob.

I thought it was a scam at first but now I'm sure it's a case of mistaken identity.

The number they are reaching me on is on a new SIM card I don't use for phone calls. I've had it maybe two months tops. I don't even know the number!

First text I got on this SIM was an overdue reminder from WA Transport- I've never been to WA or registered anything there. The next (and only other) four were from this ARL mob, who I now know to be debt collectors.

I think they are chasing whoever owned this SIM number before me, possibly for the WA Transport debt.

If it was my debt, they'd text my actual mobile phone number, it's no secret and I've had it for a very long time.

ARL either dodgy or just very unprofessional!

Googled them. The contact number on the webpage says they are currently not open??? Middle of the day but if you push 1 you can pay by credit card...... Wt.....

This number is ARL Ltd and they refuse to notify you of who they are until they confirm your details. They are a collection agency for a few different companies and are known for being rude and disrespectful
