I received a text message asking me to call the 1300 number to discuss an important matter and quote a reference number. I called back from a private number but the call taker would not discuss the alleged debt with me until I gave him my full name, DOB and other personal details. When I asked why he needed so much personal info he hung up. Figure they'll send a letter if they really want to discuss 'an important matter'.

I don't have any outstanding debts so figure it must just be a scam.

A debt collection service like dun and Bradstreet can not, and are not permitted at law, to call you more than 3 times in a week (or 10 times in the same month) in any state or territory in Australia.

The government authorities and ombudsmen will help you.

It is a proven, quick and easy stop.

Got this scam today twice. First got a weird phone call asking me to "press 1 if it was [insert name]". I hung up. Then got a text message from Dun and Bradstreet.

I haven't answered the calls, got a text message today saying I owe Lumo Energy a certain amount. I had to Google who Lumo Energy were, seems it's Red Energy and I've never had an account with them. The harassment is getting annoying! Now i know what they are supposedly ringing for I might answer them and tell them to bugger off!

NOT SCAM. I called number from their website and not the one in the message and it is a true debt collecting agency. I hate sacms and this isn't one.

Its not a scam, its a debt collection agency (Dun & Bradstreet). The number is correct. they text me a full message to tell my daughter to call them immediately and quote a reference number. I called as she is just a kid and they said they need to speak to her due to Privacy Act. She has no debts or bills so I was worried it was a scam but I got her to call and found out it was regarding a pharmacy bill for the hospital that we had actually paid. We gave them the reference number so all is good.

Appears to be a scammer. They request information such as credit card details, birth date, home address etc and are unwilling to provide formal communication to support assertions that a so called debt unpaid actually does, in fact, exist.

Sounds like a scammer trying to trick me into paying an outstanding bill to a company I've never dealt with or even heard of. Probably someone that has bought my data from the Optus breach on the dark web and is now using it to scam people

Scammer. Computerised recorded message pushed to my voicemail without a phone call requested a call back. Wanted all my personal details and refused to tell me what it was about.

I've received txt message and phone call from Milton Graham (Previously Dun & Bradstreet). The strange thing is that they know my first name, I usually use initial name only. Want to find out what's going on. called and ​quoted reference number.
I was asked for my full name and car number plate. I refused to answer his questions and told him that why would you ask me if you have already had all the information. He tthen said it's regarding a parking ticket in a suburb I have never heard of. I told him that there are lots of scams happening recently. So I don't answer questions. At the end, the guy (Josh) said the address doesn't match the information on file (I haven't even told him any address yet..haha, and then said he'd remove my number for now and they'd contact me again if needed.

Hope this may help anyone, I'm still unsure if its a scam or legit. but I think it's always best to protect your own identity
