Just got one of these "urgent" messages. What do you do? Just delete it?

Was told I had a centrelink debt (despite not being a centrelink customer), got an SMS from 'The Probe Group' asking to return their call on 1300 024 718 regarding an urgent matter with a listed reference number. Number rang out when I tried to return call. Presume they're after personal information... Looks like a SCAM to me!!

Who is going to stop this scam. These people are ridiculous, try to be intimidating and frankly are getting on my nerves. They must have some success with some poor suckers but they should be stopped now. Their harassment scam is unacceptable.

I got a letter from Probe asking to pay $126.22
I got 3 letters from them, I tried to contact them but no response in this number.

Received a text message telling me to ring Probe Group. Ignored, but did some checking and found that I have been overpaid child care benefit ($50) This is a debt collection agency mascarading as a Tele Scam. Nice work Centerlink.

Seriously getting sick of all the texts I'm getting from this 'Probe Group'. If their matters are so urgent, shouldn't they just call me?

I received an SMS from "The Probe Group" last week. When I called the number and quoted the reference number they wanted to confirm my ID. I wouldn't give them that information. They told me it was in regards to a Centrelink debt. I do not receive any benefits. Centrelink confirmed they had not asked this company to contact me on their behalf and believe this must be a scam!

I received a bill of $5k in my My Gov account, apparently from overpayment on their part. Now I get this probe message saying its urgent that I get back to them. I have been told it is a scam.

"Mayleen" wanted to speak with my husband but he wasn't available. I asked if she wanted to leave a message, her message was they need to speak with him regarding a matter of Human Services under his name. She also gave a ref no. to quote when he called back. Now that I know they're dodgy he won't be returning any calls. Sorry Mayleen.

Honestly I am so sick of these idiots ringing up all the time. Sometimes I am getting two to three calls a day. Hate my phone ringing. Just don't answer it when I don't know the number. These people keep leaving messages saying ring 1300 024 718 saying it's an urgent matter, indian talking on the other end.

I too am receiving the sms saying to call them and a reference #. I immediately delete as I know I do not owe centrelink anything. I am guessing it is a scam. The government will catch up on any debts through your tax.

This was not a scam. Debt collection agency that act on behalf of Centrelink. Received a text requiring me to call 1300 024 718.

The Australian Government is WEAK? They should protect there citizens and take this scam on! this is harassment and the Government is doing nothing about it. Why?

Just received a text regarding an urgent message with a reference number... I returned the sms with "Please call direct" - I haven't heard back... but I looked up the number here and found 14 complaints. I am sure the relevant party who is trying to contact me legitimately will call me.

I also had a text message today but a few days prior to that got a recorded message that had my name inserted in the middle. I will ignore it on the basis that should I actually have an urgent matter, I will be hearing from the relevant people in due course.
