They called from a blocked number and when my phone auto rejected them they called from this number. The lady then quite rudely asked for Chris.. I said sorry you have the wrong number and she rudley said oh fine then and hung up!

I too phoned the 1800 number listed on here as fed up of receiving constant phone calls despite registed with the DNCR and lady explained that the Do not call register doesn't cover charity phone callers. She has agreed to remove our home number from their records.

Just to add to the feedback, the above 1800 number is great. I phoned and requested my number be taken off the list for Royal Life Saving Society and this was not a problem. They were phoning me every single day and would never leave a message. Horribly annoying...
Thanks fo the feedback above, I wouldn't have known who was calling each day until I found this post.

Just rung 1800 730 33 and established that people are receiving calls from the Royal life Saving Call Centre when the centre is not manned. Explains calls such as the one I received last night at 10:40. They are looking into the problem. If you ring the 1800 no. they will take your number from their listing but it can take up to two weeks.

Sick of them. I will never again donate to either royal lifesaving or life saving... I do the right thing & buy a lottery ticket & these guys take it as an invite to give me the sh*ts via the phone.

I confirm the above: been getting late afternoon calls - 3 rings only EVERY DAY. rang the number suggested above 1800 730 333 and a polite lady said she would take me off the register.

Had a call from this number at 7-52pm-rang 3x and hung up as I answered. From the long list of complaints here similar-it appears the organisation that is making these calls on behalf of the charities ,is actually not collecting money for these charities-=but scamming them; by charging them wages and for telephone calls it makes and registers, as called but because they hang up before the connection is actually made-there is not a cost to them so they make a profit from charging for calls made but without incurring any costs. Also-they can make and log far more calls made; by not having to talk to people; who dont donate anyway-by continually dialing numbers-then hanging up within 3 rings-before most people have a chance to answer. Seems to me the cold calling companies are scamming the charities they puport to represent. Donate direct to charities;then your money goes where it should-not to profiteers. DNC register, does not apply to charities polling companies or electioneering.

I am getting calls on our business line between 5pm & 5.30pm every day. We close at 4.30pm so they just hang up and never leave a message on the machine. I rang it back and got a recorded message about Royal Life Saving. I rang the Hello Customer Contact Centre and asked them to remove our number. Lady there was very helpful.
