Automated message stating the ATO was going to arrest me for tax avoidance ..... hung up and blocked.

Idiots left a robo message with some nonsense about the 'cops' coming to arrest me. Very unsophisticated.

ATO FRAUD - why do the Telco allow these numbers to be used and not banned? or at least traced to the company that own them and ban them from ever getting new number ranges.

Rang and didn't leave a message. I rang back and a guy with a Srilankan/South Indian accent replied "Australian Tax Office". I cut the call then.

I have started harassing the scammer myself by calling him back on a private number, the guy is clearly the scum of humanity and I have been calling him every 5 minutes to remind him of this fact :)

I encourage you all to join in with me and remind this person what society thinks of him.

Set you number to private, and continuously call (08) 9468 9722, the line will say its busy a few times however he usually picks up after the 3rd or 4th call. I tried shouting in his ear a few times which gave me some comfort :)

received a call from the ATO??? was an indian scam. but well put together, they had good details on me but it was a fraud.

Arrest Warrant automated message when answered.
Then called back and got someone who said ATO how can I help.
Asked for name and position and they hung up on me.
Now when I call it rings out.
Interestingly I eventually got the automated vodafone lady "saying that the mobile number is not answering and to call back later"...
