Same ID number given TPS0015 as well as contact number (08) 9467 9785 but caller ID showed the number (02) 0398 3016. She asked if I was a pensioner and as I was said I would get 25% off my phone bill starting next bill. She then asked for my date of birth, I said no and she ended the call.

As with other posts, the person claimed to be from ACMA and provided the employee identification number TPS0015. Did not get far enough to provide any details other than those available in the phone book.

Caller: Someone called Sam (or Richard?)
My elderly distressed friend phoned me just now and told me about this phone call. She gave in to them and (foolishly) gave them her bank details! I said it was more than likely a scam, and then she became alarmed. Certainly WAS a scam! She immediately contacted her bank and cancelled her card, much to my relief. Then I checked the numbers and actually phoned one of the two she was given to ring them back. Someone called Sam answered, and I confessed to phoning a "wrong number". What creeps these people are! Sad that they are preying on the elderly, who would be sucked in by such things.

Got a phone call Ron Brake and technician Mike. They both got strong Indian accent. Ron said that he is from Microsoft windows department and our PC got an error. Then he put a technician Mike and he asked me to start pc and told me our microsoft security code. Ron's Microsoft staff ID is TPS0015 and gave me phone number (08) 9467 9785. Lucky I had a look at this site.

Same number as above plus ID TPS 0015. Referred to stopping spam plus as I retired / a pensioner I qualified for 25% discount on my bill. Then proceeded to need credit card number to apply discount etc. Stopped him there.

Caller: Scammer claimed to call from Aus government
Had no idea how the Do Not Call register worked that he was offering to put me on. Also assumed I was a pensioner (no, I work from home, but I didn't tell him that) and was offering a pensioner discount. Gave me this number to call back and verify. Gave me the most bogus employee number I have ever heard. Strung him along for a while to keep him from making other calls but he gave in when I told him I have worked for a Telco and he had everything wrong but it was up to him to find out what was iffy as I was not going to help him.

Caller: Said his name is "Ron Wayn" & then his supervisor "Sam Mercy" when I would not give them info
Very thick Indian accents, both had my phone number and address and said they would block all of the very many spam & scam phone calls we get (& we do)! But as soon as the "supervisor"wanted to know about how we pay our phone bill... I stopped him and said that I knew he was lying. They both claimed to have the same Employee Identification number TPS0015 and said they worked for the ACMA and that the phone call was being recorded -- I hope so because I hollered so much at the second guy especially my throat is sore.
DO NOT EVER GIVE OUT YOUR BANK DETAILS TO SOMEONE WHO PHONES YOU. LIARS & SCAMMERS and the first guy knew that what they were doing is criminal. I will be reporting them to the ACMA but won't hold my breath they will find them. Oh, by the way when I would not give them my banking details I was told that they will be cutting my phone so I can not make or receive phone calls -- horrible liars, nasty people.

Caller: Gentleman with Indian accent calling himself John
Very polite gentleman tell me he was from the Aust Govt, and is wanting to make life easier by stopping calls. He was going to list our number on the Do Not Call Register. I told him I didn't believe him and asked him for a return number. I called but went to voice mail. It's a scam. The Do Not Call Register is online.

I received a cal from this Ron Blake and he said he could help me with unwanted calls on my land line phone.
