It's better that you are hung up on. The number belongs to a dodgy sales company that have a history of lying and ripping people off! Including their own staff. There in court at the moment for sham contracting.

I too have been receiving missed calls from this number. I have emailed Telstra as per Nealg's Dec 11 comment and fingers crossed that works - I have labelled this number as telemarketer in mu phone and will ignore all calls, but hopefully they will stop after the email to Telstra

Telstra need a shot up the @rs3 if they cannot see that the MAJORITY of clients do not want to be bugged by their marketing 8u11s4it. It would be far better that Telstra's clients had the choice of Opting In to this in the first place rather than having to Opt Out of it. Most decent organisations have shown some level of intelligence and operate this way now. But no, NOT TELSTRA, they are just so far up themselves they cant see the light!

Get a call from this number every afternoon . Luckily the call goes straight to "missed calls"so I don't even answer them or ring back . But it is a nuisance .

I got a call from this number 2 days in a row, and they hung up before I could even answer. It only rang 3-4 times. Now I know I will simply ignore it. It's really annoying because Optus does the same thing on my mobile. And the worst part is that because they have their call centres in India I can't understand what they are saying, which just makes it even more annoying.

This number (08) 9424 4710 started hitting our home phone 3-4 times a day this week. I contacted Telstra complaints, they were very helpful and put a block on our number for all telemarketing. This must be a separate process to the do not call register as I have been registered with them for some time and my registration is valid until 2015.

I agree with all of these people. I have calls from these people almost every day. Bloody annoying! If my Telstra from my city calls me I will communicate with them, but not with a company from another city in total, that is just plain scam! This is bullsh*t! They have no right to call me every day, offering a service of their own, when I already have one! It is beyond all limits!

Have reported this company to the TIO and NSW Police. Make sure you let them know how you feel about their service here

Calling people 2-3 times a day during a bush fire emergency is a new low !!
Have reported them to a current affair as well

Get these calls on a regular basis. They hang up before I get a chance to answer. I'm beginning to think it's a revenue raiser by Telstra to encourage people to dial *10# which they charge for, of course!

I have received two calls this afternoon. 1:50pm and 4:50pm - exactly 3 hrs apart. I went straight to the phone both times but they hung up before I could answer both times after 3 may be four rings at most.
When you call back they tell you it is TSA Telco Services on behalf of Telstra and give you the option of talking to someone now or if otherwise they tell you they may try and call you another time. There is also an option to opt out of receiving the marketing calls, emails and texts from Telstra. They ask for you to say your name, and your email address.
The main problem seems to be the number of times they call and hang up without speaking to people. At least they are now allowing the option of opting out of telstra marketing by calling them. Caller: TSA Telco Services

I received several calls with no voicemail message left. I Googled the number and found this page on which people have left comments that this is a dodgy sales company, so when the phone rang and I saw the number, I answered the phone with "I'm not interested, remove me from your calling list immediately."
The very polite woman on the other end informed me that they were note selling anything and were providing a courtesy call to verify that I was aware of the limitations on my account, re: bandwidth use, text messages, and how much in calling I had available.
Telstra: If you're reading this, you've got some damage control to do. And if you've got folks using this number for sales calls, you need to separate sales calling from service calling. It's in your best interests.
I'm gonna flag this as an "Event Reminder" because it was in response to changes in my phone plan.

I made a complaint to ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority), and they advised this number belongs to Telco Services Australia who handle telemarketing for Telstra. ACMA advised to get onto Telstra and get them to stop (ie 'opt-out') Use 1800 039 059 or privacy @ online.telstra.com.au I've done that so I'll wait to see what eventuates!

I have been getting at least one call a week from this number and I am on the Do Not Call Register. No point complaining...no doubt I would be on teh phone for an hour waiting to speak to correct person. I just ignore the calls.

Telstra really need to acknowledge not only the inconvenience that telemarketers cause infringing on people's privacy but also the harm that can be created from these nuisance calls.I am a community nurse working primarily with the elderly. The amount of increase falls we are seeing contributing to our beloved older generation have to constantly answer phone has dramically increase in the past year, our older folks are from a generation that answering the phone is the thing to do.The new generations know to let it go to a answering service but that's just not our some of our elderly think, they are always concerned it maybe an important phone calls.Telstra NEED out of honour for those who fought for our freedom to allow them not be bombarded with telemarketing ! I do give my clients the phone number Telsta advocates that will stop telemarketing but unfortunately it doesn't stop company's such as above ringing.
