I rang back (08) 9266 6509, spoke with someone who hung up right away

Weird, I tried to call back, did t even get through. They phoned back, I answered and no-one was there.

Murdoch Uni's numbers start with 9360; the 9266 numbers are Curtin University, but cannot find the specific one ending 6509. Have had two calls from unrelated people unconnected with Curtin with caller ID showing this number for both of them.
