I got a call from this number telling me it was from NBN and they would be disconnecting my landline and Internet unless I " press 1 " to arrange connection to NBN.
I " caller IDd " the number and a kind gentleman, private citizen, answered.
I was the second caller he'd had today with the same problem.
Poor him if it keeps going.

I just received the same 'recorded-type' lady's voice message. Freaked me out, but NBN is just starting to be installed in my country hometown & am pretty sure my street is not connected yet. No holes being dug yet anyway. I did not press 1 to connect to the 'technician' as told to do. Angry

Rings two or three times a day.

Caller: Supposed to be National Broadband

So far today I have had 4 calls from a robotic recording claiming to be from the National Broadband. They state that the internet will be disconnected. Press 1 for technician, press 2 to disconnect your internet.

I am so frustrated that these scammers ring and waste my time. I don't need idiots ringing and trying to scam me. Grrr

why does Telstra allow this number to remain in service?

Hard to arrange NBN connection when I've been on it for over a year.

I pressed 1 and won the $647,982,827,736.01 prize from Nigeria. DON'T DO IT, NBN will not be disconnected. NBN has been disconnected from people since 2013.

Same as the previous comment. Allegedly from NBN and I was going to have my home phone disconnected. Was supposed to press 1, but I simply hung up as it sounded like crap to me. Tried to call the number back, without success. Some shonks may have pinched a genuine number from some poor bugger in Minlation..

Thank you everyone for your comments. I have been getting this number on my answering machine on a regular basis.I very rarely use my landline but keep it until I move house. I now know it is a scam, thank goodness I didn’t ring back

Doggy As: Message received was, "Have been trying to reach you.....NBN is already in your area........if you don't connect to nbn,,,,,,, your phone and internet will be cut off within 24hrs." Press 1 to talk to Technician. I was expecting a call back from Telstra so I pressed 1, was then connected to an Indian chap who started telling me that international hackers where trying to access my internet... Not much to do with NBN connection.... I hung up.

Got a call from this mob yesterday - robot voice, claimed I was about to be disconnected in 24 hours "because NBN is now available in your area" ... I swore at the robot and hung up [poor robot, bet it gets a lot of angry responses!]

I hung up then then dialled the number, and a recorded voice advised that the number was no longer in service

Caller: someone pretending to be calling from NBN

I knew it was a scam from get go but I listened to see where it was going. The call starts with a recorded message that sounds like a genuine NBN message but when you press 1 an Asian voice comes on and asks questions about number of computers in the house etc. The nuisance part is if you don't answer the call the keep calling so just hang up?

I knew this to be a scam as I know NBN won't be ready in my area till next year. Was so furious with this INDIAN woman but managed to be sickly sweet and nice as I told her I knew she is a scammer and she should be ashamed of herself (at same time thinking very bad words). These people are the scum of the earth, preying on the vulnerable. I am so angry I'll go and donate some money to a charity - best way to calm down.

Another one of these calls that hang up if not answered. And they are persistent. Surely there is a way of stopping these scammers.

Blocked this number yesterday and today 18 July they have called four times as per phone records and is so frustrating.Do not answer.

They have called 3 times in the last 2 hours, I don't bother answering them any longer.

Called and when I answered using our business name they hung up
