A current scam regarding "myself or someone I know being in an accident recently and they want to talk to the person involved".

Answered and they hung up, I tried to call them back 3 times, called automatically ended

Appears to be also related to scam call using number (08) 9467 4216. Both rang within a short period of each other.

85300219 and 87346978 are india people trying to scam Australians. These people live in Australia and try to scam you out of money. They pretend that you or your friends or loved ones have been in a car accident. Do not give them any info, Just tell them you have traced them back and are now going to contact police and hang up.

Same :(...... and my blind Dad is getting them and it concerns him,as an 88 yr old, he frets about these things.

Scam call regarding an accident

Receiving calls on landline and mobile frequently asking if myself or anyone I know has had an accident. When advise no, no one has had an accident they ask "are you sure?"

Call from them advising me that someone from this phone number had been in an accident. "Where did you get my number?" "National Road Safety Council" I asked for their number and was told (02) 8005 0034. Number doesn't answer and no such organisation

Call from this number which I screened: I heard voice say 'call from control' then it hung up. This has happened about twice a week over a period of several weeks (since I changed to VOiP telephone via the NBN). I intend putting a block on this number.

Came up as an Adelaide number. Answered and no one said anything, 15 seconds later an automated voice said goodbye and hung up.

Some call centre somewhere. I didn't give the opportunity to speak. The area code made me think it was local.

Every week we are getting calls asking anyone in the family had accident.

Sames as above, this number has called me four times today, hung up each time...number doesnt ring or answer when called.

Very scratchy line, was difficult to hear but sounded the usual "I need to talk to you about an accident" type call.
