have rung 3 times today - scam in the disguise of a 'survey' - trying to trick you into buying...told them the first time I wasnt interested - they do not take no for an answer.

A Philippino male caller asking age group, illnesses, name, postcode, said they were collecting data... obviously.
Probably not legit!

Wanted to ask some questions to someone in the household who was over 50 for a survey. I asked if they were Government. No - private institute. Asked where they were located - Malaysia. I said - no thanks and hung up.

I was phoned to do this survey. I told him I was at work and then agreed to do a shortened version (1 minute). As soon as I said I was in my late 40's he hung up on me. Rude

This is a scam call but it seems to target seniors. How does it know who to call? Who has sold phone numbers (including numbers on the Do Not Call register - what a joke that is!) to this bunch of scammers overseas?

I answered the questions, it have no health / pain issues. So their final comment was, “Have a nice day!” I had no doubt the survey would be followed up with a sales pitch if I’d been seen as a candidate.
“Australian Health and Wellness Survey” must be part of Revitive - I must say the young man was courteous, and did exactly as he said he would - asked a few heath questions. Knew my surname, rang on my landline - so likely got my number from the directory.

Foreign person said he was from this Forum and wanted to carry out a survey. Advised him I give false answers to Surveys on the phone, as most people did for the election surveys, then thanked him for the call and hung up.

Caller: supposedly a survey for Australian Health and Wellness Forum
Oh dear. I altered my usual method of dealing with these calls (which is to hang up immediately) and fell for the blurb, which I thought was something politically based on behalf of one party or the other. No, not the case and reading here I realise that this is a well organised scam - though for what exact purpose I can't imagine. The younger caller (from a region not too far from Australia based on his accent) thanked me for my time and said that was it. I replied that it wasn't over as far as I was concerned and that I wanted a call back number and a web site for his organisation. He told me that it was the name he had given so basically I was rude, told him that it was NOT a web site, legitimate or otherwise. He was quick to explain that their web site was 'undergoing' restoration work so I suggested that he get a real job, stop scamming people and hung up. Cross with myself for even thinking it was a genuine survey and like others here, I wonder all over again just why we bother being on a do not call/do not contact register. It's a waste of time and every government department at every level appears unable, or unwilling, to take any action to stop this positive epidemic of scam calling. Incidentally the call I received came from (08) 9497 5375 which, on calling back, came up with a Telstra message saying it was not a registered number !! All the best to other posters.

Like Anon. 7/12/17, I have been a long term registrant on the Do Not Call register and a more useless government entity there has never been! I have a Do Not Knock sign on my front door and it is respected by all unexpected visitors.
The rules re. Do Not Call are a joke as there are so many exemptions that the bloody Indian bastards can always find a way around ignoring them, in this instance by pretending to be undertaking a 'survey'. The latest wrinkle in their schemes is to somehow obtain an old or unused(?) Australian landline phone number and use this as the conduit to calling me, this way, if I use caller I.D. they show up as a private Australian number and I guess they anticipate that most Australians will unwittingly answer the call.
Message to federal politicians: Do Not Call means that I DO NOT want d*ckhead salesmen and scammers to call me!! - get it?

Same as above. I gave no details except age and first name. What are they after? On-selling to insurance companies/medical cure-all scams?
I told I was perfectly well - nothing wrong with me at all - a fib of course but he soon ended the call.
These people always seem to call around 4-6pm. So much for the Do Not Call Register!

Very similar experience, similar words to many above (over 50, health-related questions and whether I thought health insurance in Australia was affordable, also some demographics - marital status, age, retired?, occupation, Australian?, pensioner?), like one commenter above, he tended to "personalise" - suggest more specific answers - my more vague answers), in Adelaide at 12:45 pm on Friday 9 Nov 2018, male voice claiming to represent Australian Health and Wellness Forum - don't know the number it purported to come from. He said he'd got my details from the white pages - but, like for some above, tried to get info from me first, then later confirmed it/compared it with the white pages info. Annoyingly, I got sucked in, though didn't give much info.

Same as previous posts. I persistently asked what the info was to be used for and couldn't get an answer. They are ringing randomly from the white pages, so she told me. I was specific that I did not want them to ring or contact me again, and she then spelt out my surname (not provided) and asked me to confirm this, which I did not do. I would love to know what they intend to do with the vague info they are fishing for.

Got sucked in this time...... I usually hang up on callers with bad english/awkward accents........ they asked my 1st name (so they could address me correctly...), age, and some questions about health back pain/osteo arthritis/health insurance and retirement...... after longer than I was expecting the survey to take, they then asked me to confirm my surname, street, suburb, post code (they read it out to me....) so they wouldn't call again (and I fell for that too....) . I hadn't given any specifics (birth date etc), but they obviously (in hindsight) got enough to identify me on their list........ damn, wish I had said no & hung up....must be going soft in the head.....
P/no on my callerID list was 0198339100 which had a message to ring another no for sms/txt messages........ hope it wasn't a phishing call....... disappointed I fell for it.
Probably get lots of scam callers from now on........... JUST SAY NO & HANG UP.

She knew my surname and our address but didn't disclose that fact until the end of the survey. It's a bit scary when you suddenly realise they know all about you.
