Calls from a 1018 number to my roommates phone asking about sexually explicit deeds to be done for money. I got on the phone an asked the guy if he wanted a big black di*% an he just sat in silence then hung up. Only to call an do it all over again.

has called and hung up several times a day for the past week and a half. Have called the number back a few times and I keep getting an engaged signal.

The telephone number of 1018 keeps calling on my cell phone, but leaves no message. There is no area code and no prefix--just the numer 1018. Has anyone else had this happen?

Putting your # on the DNC does very little good, unless you can track the company that originated the call.Your best best is using something like Google Voice which can block specific phone#'s or calling your phone provider and having them add that number for you.In the telemarketing game (which I used to work in) it's too easy for the telemarketing company to "spoof" phone numbers, making tracing them virtually impossible.Also, the reason why you get a phone call and it instantly hangs up, is the call center running the "dialer" as they call it, blasts out more phone calls than people available to take the calls.  It keeps all their employees busy, at the expense of irritating people by ringing their phone and hanging up (not enough agents available to take the automatic call).

I received only one call for 1018 yesterday.  Obviously, we can't call back to see who it is.  I want to know how they are able to display only 4 digits.

This number's called my house about 10 times in the last week and a half they never leave a message and when you answer the call they dont speak and then hang up.
