Caller: Probe I called optus regarding this number, as the caller wanted me to pay a bill for optus. they did not ask me any Id questions and were very keen to get my credit card number. Optus said they have nothing to do with this number and that they will investigate and report that number.
If they call i reccomend hanging up and calling whoever they say they are calling on behalf of.

This is Probe Group - the lowest, dirtiest form of sh*t on the planet. I now make $25K a week, but due to their nasty tactics to retrieve debt, they won’t be getting the $130 they’re chasing me for.

Caller: Wouldn't give me a name of ID # Very pushy and demanding. Indian call centre saying they were from Optus and demanding personal ID.
Never ever give out personal information on the phone to someone who you suspect is calling from overseas. Especially if they refuse to identify themselves.
They also try the usual chestnut of "here's our number, please call back" ... Hmmm!!! I don't trust a cold call from someone overseas, but hey, I'll give you our completely NON-BOGUS landline number, and I'm sure whoever answers will read from the same script!
Hang up immediately.

Caller: (08) 7224 8808 The worst customer service if it is a debt collecting agency. They should know about ACCC guidelines .. how many contact they can make a day or a week. I got 3 calls a day. When I receive the call they don’t say anything and hung up on me. I called back and it says welcome to probe group. The pro’be’ the be in the word is not stressed. So they may be mocking probe. Who knows. When I called I provided them with my no and they introduce themselves as OPTUS. How can you be probe and Optus at same time ?? I said my overdue has been paid. she kept insisting to provide with my details. If my overdue has been paid why do you need my details for ?? And if Optus have a problem they can email me ..
I am pretty sure this is scam. But If it’s probe my suggestion to you is have your agents illiterate what ACCC is and how many contacts you can make in VIC. Also I asked her to remove my no. Which she didn’t.

Caller: (08) 7224 8808 Have received phone call from this number continually over the pasty week. They say they are optus and I have an outstanding mobile phone bill and wanted to make arrangements to pay it off. Quickly asking for credit card details. I dont have a mobile phone with optus. Have just phoned Optus who advised this is a spam call. Be very wary and don't give credit card details over the phone.

When you call back it says Probe group on the pre recorded message but when they answer they say they are Optus, pretty strange considering not an optus number and I talked to optus this week and paid all outstanding bills.

Caller: Probe group Rings several times a day leaves a voice mail but is silent. I rang back today and they claimed it was about an overdue Optus account (which I do have) but the amount of money was wrong. They didn’t ask for any details other than my name and mobile number (which isn’t connected to optus) then said they’d put an extension on my account and that was it. Seems sketchy. I’ve done a quick search, most are saying it’s a legit debt company (that just doesn’t introduce themselves very well) others are saying scam. If you get called I recommend asking what account they’re after then hanging up and ringing your provider to double check.

Caller: (08) 7224 8808? they just rung me and said I have to pay $436 and asked immediately for my card details. Now the balance owing on my optus account has been discussed with finance team at optus and the balance is actually $535 and the payment is not due till another week so I think this is a scam

Called and said that I have an overdue bill on my Optus account for 0.89c and that I will continue to get these phone calls until I settle this amount. “Now sir it would be beneficial for you to settle this amount right now so that you can stop getting these payment reminder phone calls, do you have your credit card details ready” LOOOL first of all my account is in arrears of over $200 cause I always pay my bills at the last possible moment. BE CAREFUL I accidentally gave them my name and date of birth, they also have my phone number, hopefully there isn’t too much they can do with that information but atleast they didn’t get my credit card. Close one.

This is a company called probe group, I think, They are a collections company that collect debts on either behalf of or the debts are sold to them via optus.
