Caller: Ebay

Got a robocall saying charges to my phone number had been made from ebay. Number was from South Australia so called back and told me my phone number had been hacked, don't have an ebay account, and someone from China had purchased gift cards using my phone number. He hung up when I kept querying him about who he was!

This lot are Scammers
When questioned had no answers
When threatened with Police they very swiftly hung up !

Same MO: claiming to be Ebay customer support re an impending debit to my account of $249.99 they thought was fraudulent from Chinese hackers... ,
They are very well rehearsed and quick to respond to any specific questioning.
Reported as Scam to Telstra but I doubt that will have any effect in stopping these low life sum praying on the vunerable.

Phone area code was South Australia.

Telstra voicemail deciphered this as:
"$249.99 and the same will be debited from your account.
If you had not placed an order. Can call us on 6139005"

Probably the same as other posters have posed:
"The purchase you requested of $249.99 and the same will be debited from your account. If you did not place this order then call us on (03) 9005 6447 or press 1 to speak to a representative to cancel or get refund"


NUMBER BLOCKED!

You missed a call from (08) 7200 1045, who said "And $49.99 and the stand(?) will be debited from your account. If you had not placed the order. Can call us back at 61390056."

Scam

Recorded message, said, 'This is a recorded massage' (first clue that it wasn't genuine), went on to claim it was to do with eBay and confirming a $200+ payment of some sort. Don't answer!

Didn't answer - second call today (first was a bit thick as they rang from a Private number so obviously was not going to have a return call to carry out the scam). Same MO - will deduct etc etc

Yes I got this automated recorded message about the $249.99 too.

told that someone in China has bought a gift card for $249.99 on my ebay and that i need to log into a web address i give them to cancel the debit. Told them to email the address i have in ebay and i will address, apparently they can't give out my personal details to me hahahah scammers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never answer calls from unfamiliar numbers or more so calls from another State where I don't know anyone. Based on all of the above feedback I have blocked this number.

Usual crap. Don't know the number, don't answer. And then listen to the message on message bank. Then delete message AND block number. Scumbags
