Caller: Saying they are accident insurance people

Scam.. told them to take my number off their list and that I was reporting them

Have had calls from multiple numbers with the same message. They say I've been in an accident and I'm entitled to compensation. Have asked that they take me off my list, but they call from a different number each time.

Recorded message motor vehicle accident scam!

Woman called to discuss a car accident and that it was not my fault. I don’t drive so I knew it was a scam. The person knew my last name so I don’t know where they’re getting an unlisted number from as my number is not listed publicly. I advised I don’t drive and so she asked about household family members. I contacted local police who have advised it’s not a police matter but to report to scam watch.

Tried to tell me that I was possibly eligible for compensation for an accident I had been in. I have not been in an accident for decades so I told her to stop making up stories. She hung up. I dialled back and got a message to Press 1, 2 or 3 and when I did this, the line immediately dropped out. Suspect SCAM.

I called back and the message said it was "National Claims Helpline". I suspect this is a scam as I do not have any claim with any insurance company at this time.
