MS Society of WA does not use any professional call centre. So when you do get a call, it is from a family member, friend or volunteer supporting the efforts to find a cure, prevent this disease or help make life easier for those most affected. All of the funds go for this purpose. I donate occasionally through their raffles and the other times it takes only a few seconds of my life to pleasantly say ' Not this time'. There are plenty of real numbers to get annoyed about, but not this one. Open your soul, ease your mind, think ' there but for the grace of...' and either purchase or nicely say ' No thank you.' These are real people on the other end trying to do something good. Play nice.

Alex, it's not the disease or the people with the disease people object to... it's the tenacious and unrelenting calling for donations. I donate quite regularly but I HATE being called for donations. I've asked to be removed from call lists but it seems to do nothing. that is what I believe most people object to.

I've been called on this number twice recently. I have now entered it into my phone to be aware of the organisation's efforts to contact me - and to ignore it.

scam the scammers:
1. keep them on the line as long as possible, waste their time
2. call them back, then hang up: threat them as they treat us
If we all (20,000,000 aussies) do it they may get the message
3. Report each and every nuisance call to Telstra, Optus, etc until they do something. At the moment they make too much money from these scammers and cannot be bothered to look after their regular, decent Australian customers
4. Make the first of every month "Phone Calls Revenge Day": bombard the Embassies and Consulates of these scammers with complaints.

MS Society. These people do a fantastic job and the disease is horrible. I actively support them and MS victims in non-financial terms so have the number blocked. I call them, they don't call me.

At work, ringing, donated a few years ago but seem like they keep a database of all users who have even asked to be taken off.

Same. You give to a charity when you can and then they hound you on your mobile. I have just blocked that number on my mobile phone. You go into your menu, select "call" then select "call rejection" and "auto reject list" and add their number to the list. I'm not saying I will not buy MS lottery tickets again....I just don't want them to ring me selling them.
