Had a call from them, all he knew was my mobile number and name, the rest he tried to phish out by asking for it and even put me on hold. I told him he should have it as he calls on behalf of Telstra, told him goodbye.

This number belongs to TSA Telstra NBN. They mainly book appointment which I did through them. This one is being redirected to Brisbane however I have spoken to someone as well that is located in SA and Melbourne.
Alternative line for Telstra NBNas well is the 1800 834 273

I got a call today from this number. The guy on the end of the phone said he was calling about the NBN in my area and he was ring to to set up a time to connect to the NBN. I told him I didn't need to set up a time because as soon as I sign up for a plan, my provider does that for me. He said "yeah, but they will charge for it" and I told him that I know for a fact they don't charge you for it. I know for a fact these calls are dodgy because I work for the chamber of commerce and we have been running free NBN information seminars for businesses and individuals by a genuine NBN advisor. A quick call to him confirmed that the calls were dodgy.

Telstra complaints department swear this number has nothing to do with Telstra. They suggest talking to UNWELCOME CALLS on 1800 805 996 as well as register with DO NOT CALL. My number is on DO NOT CALL but it hasn't deterred whoever is behind this feral mob. I don't know what UNWELCOME CALLS can do but I will give it a try. Generally speaking, I used to visit Reverse Australia site without leaving a comment but I encourage visitors to do so as it helps zero in on bastard calls.

Getting a little sick of this one calling several times a day so today I answered and screeched like a siren down the line and waited. I was surprised to hear a bloke called Scott start talking. I hung up.

This mob is still active as of today. No one on the line when I answered. They must have got through to some poor mug who answered before I did. Just block them.

I didn't answer this number, (I never answer numbers I don't know - I have an answering machine, if they're genuine, they'll leave a message) - Checked it here & glad I don't answer these types of calls - thanks for service provided on this forum.

Received a call today from this number just now, They knew my name and that I was with Telstra wanted to talk about my service. I asked was there a problem with my bill or were they trying to sell me something? They lied and said not trying to sell me anything but just wanted to discuss my service and wanted to try add value. I take that as selling. Told them I was fine and hung up. Clever, they mention at the beginning of the call " that this call is being recorded", which is probably total BS and just said at the start to try sound official or legit.. Cheeky buggers

I too have been receiving calls from this number even though I don't have a phone connected to it, only an internet connection for my computer. So no way I can answer anyway. None the less I hate these people as much as Dave a few comments back. So if you're feeling nasty and would like to risk a homicide charge you could use a standard referees whistle blown at full volume into your mouthpiece. But please be aware that there has been at least one case where it led to the death of the recipient.

Thanks everyone - I'm ignoring them! I am on the no call register obviously that dosent help any. I have called Telstra and have dealt with the NBN enquiry if anyone is unsure Telstra will mail you -so don't necessarily buy the nbn cross over explanation.

Also just had a call from this number after two unanswered calls (leaving no message) over the last two days. The guy told me what I already know & said he wanted to send a technician to hook me up to NBN. I replied that it does NOT take a technician to come to my home to commence NBN transmission. He then backtracked & said the technician MUST be booked a month in advance to fix the green box in the street or I will be left without a phone. He insisted I give my date of birth FOUR times as a security measure after speaking for 10 minutes! I refused four times. He then insisted 3 times that I tell him what my plans are when NBN commences! I also refused to answer that question. I'm usually quick off the mark with scammers but this one took me a while as I've already had 2 reminders from Telstra in the mail.... I HUNG UP IN HIS EAR THEN!

Got a call from Ben from (08) 6228 4112 claiming to be from Telstra NBN. Called to switch my service over to NBN. Gave my full name and DOB before becoming suspicious. He didn't know that I had already received a modem from Telstra to be ready for NBN. I ended up hanging up and called Telstra. Emily from Telstra confirmed that the Telstra NBN team had not called me, then she put me on hold and when she came back she said the number (08) 6228 4112 is a company affiliated with Telstra that is sub-contracted to transfer Telstra customers to the NBN and that I had an order cancelled 20 minutes earlier, which is when i hung up on Ben. All in all, it seems not to be a scam, but a poorly and unprofessionally organised transfer to NBN. I'll honestly be looking to transfer to another supplier when it's time to transfer to NBN. Sick of Telstra and their customer service.
