If Telstra knows they are scammers and they also know their phone number, thus they can be traced, then surely the police should be contacted to take action. No action and they play us for suckers, come on!

If it is Telstra NBN they can stick it up their jacksy. I pay 22cents for an outgoing call and they want 55cents to connect a call then pay by the minute for the NBN. Call that progress? I need my phone, not an online entertainment experience.

Blocked the number on my mobile after checking here, keep getting blank voicemails left, where the phone does not ring. I returned the call on my phone and it connected to "Telstra NBN". I attempted to call the number from my work phone (as it comes up as a private number to hopefully get them to bugger off and leave me alone) and it stated "Optus advises the number has been disconnected"

I'm receiving missed call messages from (08) 6228 4112 on my Advanced III 4GX Netgear. Is there any way I can stop/block these feral scammers from leaving these pesky txt messages?

Not a scam Legitimate I got the callers Telstra dealer ID number and rang Telstra. They confirmed it was a legitimate number and cross referenced the notes on their system about the call and changes to my account. I was very hesitant at first and took the unproven advice from people on this site. Do your own homework it'll pay off. Hope this helps people.

I also received a call from this number and it though it was suspicious it IS telstra. I called telstra and they checked my account and there was a pending order that I had started with the person who called from this number, I got their telstra id number and their name which the person who answered my call to telstra confirmed.

Scammers alternatively claiming to be Telstra or NBN.com. They often wait for you to identify yourself so the can claim to know your name.

I get two to three calls EVERY day from this number. They call my landline, not my mobile so I can't block them, or I don't know how to! The phone rings for a few seconds only and if I answer, it cuts off, have never spoken to anyone. If I don't answer and check the message bank, there is never any message left. What's the point of their calls?????

Had a missed call from this number. Surprise, surprise, they did not leave a message. My number is private and only my very close family and critical contacts have it. This is not a number belonging to any of them. I've barred the number.

Also, if you are not sure if they are legit ask them how much your last bill was. If they can't tell you this then you definitely know they are not from Telstra. The number listed here is actually from Telstra NBN staff but my sister just complained about it thinking it was a scam... most likely because the sales person was a rookie and/or spoke very poor English.
