Just phoned Telstra and spoke at length to their Faults/Unwelcome Calls area. As I suspected, this number is not Telstra; who advised that it is an internet based call and IS A SCAMMER! So either don't answer it, and don't give out any information whatsoever. Telstra representative told me that callers from (08) 6228 4112 are trolls, calling in an attempt to get people's financial/personal details (obviously working on the "one born every minute" principle) Tell them to go fk themselves!

This is from an outbound telemarketing centre subcontacting for Telstra. Employees have access to your account and have a Telstra identication number that usually starts with D and has 6 numbers. There is an office in Brisbane but the head office is in WA thats why it comes up with an 08 number. If you're not sure who the person is, ask for their Telstra identification number and ask them to put nites on the system and call Telstra to confirm. When you call Telstra, that agent will be able to see the notes

It's not Telstra - They have confirmed it has nothing to do with them. It is very likely a scam, I have reported to scamwatch. AFP, TIO, Telstra all couldn't give a sh*t. Hopefully they get shut down.

Calling constantly and hanging up when I answer, even if I answer immediately when it rings. I rang them back, and it says it is Telstra NBN. Spoke to the person and he claimed that their external call service rings several numbers at once, and whoever answers their phone first is the one that they will speak to, all other numbers will be hung up on. I called bullsh*t, and he said if I swear at him again he will terminate the call. Requested he remove my number from their system and he said it would take a day or so. I don't believe they are legitimately Telstra, nor do I believe that my number will be removed. A holes.

This is a valid 3rd Party Telstra Contractor, ringing on behalf of Telstra. They are persistent. As others state, to have your number removed from the Telemarketer, dial 1800 805 996 and Speak to Telstra's nuisance call centre (https://www.telstra.com.au/consumer-advice/unwelcome-calls/contact-us). They will confirm your details and remove your number from the list, which may take up to 30 days.

Had a call from this number 21 Sep 2017, claiming that she was from Telstra and checking if we were NBN ready. Told her that we live in the bush and Telstra was our only real telephone option and we probably would not be connecting to NBN. The callers reply was-"IT IS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT TO CONNECT TO NBN, OTHERWISE YOUR SERVICES WILL BE DISCONNECTED"! Told the caller that we have not had a phone line connected for 10 years, so don't try that crap. Had already explained to the caller that I was at work and really did not want to have this conversation while at work. Hung up on caller and then checked the number on this website. OBVIOUSLY a SCAM

Received another call today but since I have it blocked I only got the one ring. This in itself is annoying. I believe Lauren's post dated Nov 16, 2016 is accurate i.e. Telstra authorises third parties to call its consumers with the view of getting them to renew their contracts. I have contacted Telstra by email about this number and I will post their reply. If it turns out to be an agent of Telstra I suggest you complain to Telstra (their online complaints form is effective and convenient) and request your number be taken off agent lists.

Got a call again yesterday - I've had them before from a foreign sounding woman now it's an Aussie bloke. I've asked Telstra before and they've said it is not Telstra. Lucky for me I'm a hard arse that no one gets a cracker out of! He started with 'can I confirm your DOB, full name, address etc' and I simply say NO, I don't give that to anyone that contacts ME. He also didn't seem to know I don't have a home phone or address LOL. Banged on a bit about NBN, so I started complaining bitterly about the lack of towers and reception I suffer as a permanent gypsy and he couldn't get off the phone quick enough LMAO.

Have had this number calling and leaving voicemails for months claiming to be Telstra. Today I had one with a guy saying, "Hello? Hello? Bro?" Bit of a give away that it's not a legitimate business line...

Same story. I've had several calls from them in the last few days. Always hang up. I called the number back and got a recorded message - they identified as Telstra NBN and said someone would speak to me shortly. Of course, I hung up.

They keep calling claiming to be Telstra NBN. The also call a few times hoping that you will identify yourself so the can address you by name when they call again; I fell for that one.
