Had several missed calls from this number, anyone with optus got a solution or a method to activate the call barring service?

Call claiming to be from Telstra - they seemed to know enough about my services to have access somewhere. Trying to offer bundles/upgrades

Just received a dodgy call from this number. Sounded nothing like someone from telsta especial when the idiot chick said her name was nishma with an Irish or Scottish accent. Just a thought. Have the ppl on this forum applied for any jobs lately? Thats the only way I can think this Irish bludger/scammer got my number.

I received two calls from this number to my mobile phone. The person claimed to be working for Telstra, checking if I have any problems with my existing service.
I just Made A Complaint to Telstra. Here is the Telstra page in case anyone else would like it: https://www.telstra.com.au/misc/complaints-form.cfm

Just had a missed call from this number. Did a google & found this website. Won't bother calling back but will try to answer next time and tell them to remove me from the calling list.

Got one of these calls at 2pm on 22/12/2012. A woman with an Irish accent claiming to be from Telstra asked if I was happy with my phone service. (I am a Telstra homeline phone customer).
This woman was asking questions and trying to sell other Telstra services. She attempted to sign me up for computer services etc. without me even giving any indication that I would even agree to anything, let alone something being sold over the phone. Either that or she was a fraudster attempting to gather personal information. She said "the paperwork to sign won't come for another month" so "I will fix it up for you now". Whoa, whoa, I said, fix what up?, I haven't agreed to anything". I then terminated the call stating I was busy. She also said during the conversation for me "not to sign up for these services through the Telstra shops" but to do it through "the likes of her" because these deals are only for a selected 200 Telstra customers that "they" are calling. She did not give her or any anyone elses name.
I was almost certain that this call was not from Telstra in the end and even though I was busy when the phone rang I should have asked for verification. I am so sick of these telemarketers/scam artists.
So beware. I also suspect that they only guess that the people they are calling are Telstra (or whoever) customers as this strategy would make the caller seem more genuine.
I lodged a complaint with Telstra who denied the call had anything to do with them. I am also on the Do Not Call register and the representative from Telstra stated that Telstra do not ever call people on this register. I also called the above number a few times and it disconnects just before it rings.
So ask people for their full name, a contactable, verifiable phone number, their employee identification number and receipt number for the call. They must comply with these requests by law.

"telstra mobile" call wanting to know my "telstra home" details. and then details of my "non-telstra" service. told them it was not relevant to them and they signed off.
