Caller: "Peter" Just got off the phone from a lovely guy, "Peter" with thick Indian accent who kindly informed to me that my Telstra internet is being shared by others and has been hacked for illegal activities. He asked me to open Google to check the IP address. Unfortunately, I did not know what Google was, so he transferred me to another Indian guy for technical support. This guy was very knowledgeable and informed that my internet was being used by someone from Mount something in California and whether I knew someone there - obviously, I did not. So he asked me to go to Google or Safari - I got very scared at this and I told him so as there are lots of tigers in safari and people get eaten up there by the tigers. He assured me it was not real safari, but something called browser...At this point, I was concerned about his safety as well given he did not appreciate the dangers in safari - I pleaded with him for him not to go to safari as well because the tigers may eat him. He seemed to get frustrated for some reason and asked me to play with the tigers and then hung up. SO RUDE!!!

Caller stated that he was Paul Smith from Telstra Headquarters, I laughed and said that Telstra don't have a headquarters and he called me all sorts of naughty names in a Indian/Pakistani accent. Such a rude man. Love it when you make them angry. I feel so much better now thank you.LOL On a serious note: I know that these scammers spoof phone numbers but I'd like to know why our Telcos can't back trace where these numbers are coming from. Instead of wasting millions paying the CEO's at Telstra and other Australian Telco's for doing nothing, they should improve their software and hardware to make their communications networks safer for their paying customers. If you get scammed but one of these lowlifes in Mumbai you should be able to sue your Telco for poor customer care. Maybe then they would make an effort to do something about this garbage that festers in their communications networks.
