The caller said this call was from Telstra Wholesale, Melbourne, altho was an 08 number, caller also stated was reguarding my Telstra account and was offering deal based on my call records... i am with optus, would assume this is a scam

The caller said this call was from Telstra Wholesale, Melbourne is this correct? 08 is the Perth code. When I queried this he said it was redirected through Perth?
