Yep, same as everyone else, its AUSTAR. I've never had services with them or given them my number so I guess the previous owner of my number (prepaid Telstra reused?) did register with AUSTAR at some point. Bloody annoying!

I disconntected austar last year and got a call from a sale rep from there gold coast offices...I tried to hang up but the rep was very persistent. To be honest, the deal was really good. got first few months free, no contract, no connection fee.

I don't see that as being a bad sales call....wasnt trying to change my power company or sell me some timeshare.

As a result, I'm watching all the rugby live...i hear channel nines footage is terrible.

Just today I started getting calls from this number. Same story as most of the previous comments. I recently cancelled AUSTAR also. If they continue tomorrow I shall be calling AUSTAR and making a complaint (followed up with one in writing). Depending on the outcome (if calls persist) I'll treat it like any other crank calls: contact carrier, telecommunications ombudsman and/or police ("I feel threatened/intimidated/frightened" etc).

These people are harassing me... they call every day and when I answer nobody speaks on their end but you can hear background noise. I recently disconnected Austar so I don't know why they are calling me.
