I called back number (07) 5600 0098 spoke to a guy who said company name is the Australian Contact Center Inquiry Line.

Wish these people would f*ck off and die or someone f*cking slice they're f*cking throats death to all telemarketers.

Got a call to my mobile from this number however they hung up when I answered. I called them back and spoke to Ali. She answered with "Australian Quality Centre Inquiry Line". I said I had a missed call and she told me it would have been one of her colleagues calling to ask if I was interested in life insurance and other insurance products. I told her that the call came through but someone hung up after I answered and she said that the lines often drop out. She asked again if I was interested in the products and I said (very nicely, not rudely) that I wasn't interested in being cold called and requested my number be removed from their call list. She was nice and said she would do that. Here's hoping!

I'd love to know where they get out numbers from... Majority of places that you enter a phone number have a good privacy policy.. Yet these people are able to get your number and always call late.. 8:10pm i got the call. ALSO ALWAYS hanging up on you so you can call back. I never answer a number I don't know. If its important they'll leave a message.

Called, disconnect as soon as I answer. My phone doesn't have a "reject" option, so i've added it to my growing "SPAM" entry in my contacts.

Picked up the call, announced myself and they hung up in my ear..

funny... no mean to be rude but the way they tried to make me talk is so uneffective... they don't ask my name, they don't identify who they are nor how they've got my number yet they claim that the call's been recorded and they are trying me help me.. i asked them "help me on what?" I wish they just be candid and say "we want to sell you something".. let's not waste time..

They called me several times and hung up, at the same time they called one of my relatives and claimed to be from our phone carrier and our service was no longer continuing. Told my relative they couldnt speak to me as I was on holiday (not true) and asked when I would be back. Relative hung up but received a call a few days later, when my relative said the call and number had been reported to the AFP the f#cking Indian male on the phone abused the daylights out my (elderly) relative and threatened them something bad was going to happen to them now.

I dislike Optus as much as the next person, but they may not have given your number as mobile numbers are "recycled" and only out of service for as little as six months. I too have experienced people calling for a previous owner of a number on a temporary SIM I had.

I just blocked their number on my iPhone. Thanks for the info that helped me to figure out who they were.

Since they require punters to call back I suspect they make money on you calling them back after doing some deal with Telco. If they sell shonky insurance then this is just a bonus for them, plus they gather more of your private information and sell that on (just like Facebook). Just block their number and ignore.
