Why not leave a message referring people to a legitimate website to donate or just leave account details that people can verify and then willingly give to? Would save a lot of abuse to call centre workers and all the other tactics people employ and consumers can make an informed choice.

Apple Marketing is a telemarketing company.
Charities can, but telemarketers are legally not allowed to call anyone on the official government 'do not call' register.
You can add your number to the official 'do not call' register here:
https://www.donotcall.gov.au
Legitimate companies with legitimate corporate governance respect this register and will stop calling.
If you continue to get calls you should suspect the legitimacy of the call.

Good Lord. They have my number. They keep ringing. Surely they can work it so that they don't ring you every day.

No sympathy, as "not for profit" means their CEO gets his wages paid, free car, aircon office, business expense account for lunches, plane tickets, etc. THEN if there's any money left over it gets donated. Give to charity by all means - but walk in the door and hand it to them yourself - don't encourage this guilt-inducing rubbish, "But it's not-for-profit..." to make us feel guilty. It's your money, not theirs - and if they fired all those leeches, the charities would be receiving something like 40% I believe it is - only it would increase yet again - because people wouldn't be fed up being bled dry!

Apple marketing group does not run a system that allows them to store that type of information. And as a charity, they are exempt from DNCR

Unfortunately the message here is never, ever give to charities that use telemarketing. These people have been ringing every day - sometimes more - after my wife gave money to a charity. I have asked them to stop but they just keep ringing. This is harassment, and the government needs to broaden the Do Not Call Register to stop these pests.

Frequently get calls from this number on my business phone line that is listed on the ACMA do not call register. I never pick up and they never leave a message. Thanks to this forum I sent email to the Apple Marketing website, http://www.applemarketing.com.au/contact.asp and placed my number on their do not call register. Hope it works.
