Received a call from (07) 5480 1369? Nothing to be concerned about – that’s just the Rural Fire Brigades Association Qld (RFBAQ) raising funds for Queensland’s hardworking volunteer rural fire brigades. Our angels in yellow are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year fighting the good fight for the love of their local communities. You can find a bit more information about who we are and what we do below (and don’t forget to click around the site whilst you’re here!).
When we call, you can always be assured that our friendly staff will give you their name and let you know how they’re calling for and why. Want some more information from them? Just ask! They will provide you with all necessary information to ensure your full confidence in any transaction.
Don’t like doing things over the phone? No problem. You can purchase tickets in our Art Unions right here on our website, and of course you can make a tax-deductible donation if you prefer.

Please see this official announcement from The Rural Fire Brigades Association Queensland Inc (RFBAQ) website.
The Rural Fire Brigades Association Queensland Inc (RFBAQ) has identified a scam involving the solicitation of funds by individuals in the name of the RFBAQ. This is not a new scam by any stretch of the imagination; many charities have fallen victim to this type of scam.
As we are now preparing for our peak fire and flood season, people are more inclined to dig deep and assist the Rural Fire Brigades. This makes it imperative your hard earned dollars are going to the right place and not into the pockets of scammers.
Fortunately this type of scam is very easily thwarted by knowing who you are talking to. In the first instance if you have caller ID the number that will be displayed is (07) 5480 1369. Further validation and confirmation can only be achieved during the actual telephone conversation with an on-site RFBAQ Contact Centre employee. An authorised RFBAQ employee can and will without hesitation provide all necessary information to ensure your full confidence in any transaction.

(07) 5480 1369 is the Rural Fire Brigade. Call back the number and this is what the recording says but you can't leave a message - Which is what I wanted to do when listening to a very rude message from them after I did not answer the phone because I was at work! If you are phoning around asking for donations for a charity you should not leave rude messages simply because someone has been unable to answer their phone

Caller: Unsure This number tried to call however I do not answer unknown numbers. When I phoned the number there was a message stating it was the Rural Fire Brigade Queensland. I found it a bit rich for them to be calling just a month after the country- and around the world donated millions and millions of dollars however after reading other comments, possibly a SCAM. Looks like it has been going on for years.

Caller: (07) 5480 1369 The gov would rather purchase F35 fighter jets that sit there and do nothing instead of paying for real gear so as protecting it's own people from real dangers. Bunch of useless idiots that run this [once] great country.

So many snowflakes here! This is a charity. Why do they ring? To see if you can help a good cause. Why? Because there are so many good causes out there, and simply not enough Government funding. Don't want to help? Be polite, and get on with your day. Hate receiving a few 10 seconds phone calls every year? Want that half a minute or so of your life back? Try moving somewhere without phones or charities!

Probably raising funds for more beer. WAKE UP. No one wants to donate over the phone. Try door to door.

Had a phone call from this # this morning, invariably wanting a donation. I responded that I don't donate to begging phone calls and that I donate when I can to my local bushies from my pension. I had a curt "Have a nice day" followed by a hang up. These type of calls are very annoying!

Seeing as I live in FNQ - I would prefer to donate to my local fire brigade and not the fire brigade in SEQLD. And even in saying that, why does this charity - out of all the other charities - do they constantly phone and then hang-up? I've tried contacting them to say I do not want to donate to them and all goes quiet for a few months but then the constant harrasment of calls start up again. If this is a legit charity - use a better (and friendlier) call service to ask for donations. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar ... as they say.

We gave them a donation once. The local Bush Fire Brigade is the ones that I suport. We told them not to bother phoning us, because they would not arrive if we had a fire. The local Brigade would.

(Ash)even if its fantastic charity ,my father gave to them a few times because he thought he was doing the right thing, but now they non stop call us all the time for a donation, and my father even said he could not afford it anymore to them over the phone ,i was there when he said it ,yet they still convinced him to give money when he did not have the money for doing this anymore and he told them he could not afford it ,to me they simply could not care less, why dont The rural fire brigade pick on people that are rich have some money and ask them for a donation and not an old man that has done his best that he could do,but no the fire brigade loves to pick my father all the time on the phone and make him feel bad to a point he makes a donation.wake up thats not asking for a donation thats harassment

Caller: Presumed Scammer Received two silent calls in two days. Presumed scammers. Even if this is from a legitimate organization, why on earth would you still use cold call methods for fund raising in this day and age with scammers running wild?
