I am so sick of these calls. We are in the local fire brigade in our area and if we have a fire we have to put it out ourselves at our own expenses as we are too far away from any town firebrigade. All you are doing is turning any potential donators against you.

If they want the donation they need to leave a message otherwise I wish they would stop calling

received a call this afternoon from this number and it was a hangup also. Am thinking that if it is a charity, perhaps they've got one of those automated caller programs to check when someone is home. Given the number of these 'hangups' I have had in the last 3 days I won't be donating to any calling charities in future. Really annoying to take a call and be hung up on.

I understand that these people may need to ring for donations (painful as these calls are) but do they need to ring both my home number and my mobile number asking for donations!!! RFBAQ how about checking before you ring or get whatever system you have to pick numbers fixed..

Has anyone made them aware that in there training they should not hang-up on potential customers? I am also all for donating to my local firies living in FNQ. I appreciate it must be hard to make these type of calls at the best of time let alone in the middle of an economic downturn but what happened to the old saying 'You catch more bees with honey then with vinegar!' A little further phone etiquette training will go a long way especially if the issue is of a language-barrier nature. Please let me know if this feedback actually gets passed on for them to address or should I just call the number back myself and speak with a supervisor!

They must be getting bored if they keep ringing my number - I wish they would spend the money fighting fires.

employee of RFBAQ - I don't believe a word of what you're saying. Furthermore, I don't think you are who you say you are. Someone genuinely asking for donations would actually bother sticking around for people's calls, and not hang up when they answer. Also, it's not a good practice to be pushy, or to try and guilt trip people, or to heavily pick on people that have said they can't afford it. That's the mark of a scammer that doesn't give two craps about anyone. It's hardly respectful.
Personally, I will never give out money to ANYONE over the phone, unless I know exactly who I am dealing with, like a buisness I am buying a product from. For a supposed fire brigade, you're sure burning a lot of bridges!
The Do Not Call Register SHOULD block charities if the person wants it. It's MY phone, that's in MY house, and I should get a say on who gets to disturb my peace. The phones are too open to scammers, like this number, and there's no way to see their identification otherwise.

I accept that the rural fire service do an amazing job. BUT, I never give any money to anybody over the phone - ever. Also why the harrassing phone calls? It makes me less interested in giving when you harrass. Calling and hanging up before I can answer the phone - two rings is B.S. Is also a good way to get listed in my phone as Call Centre, or Spammer.
You are asking me for a donation, be considerate that you are inteerupting my day, I may have just crawled out from under a machine to answer your call, I may need to wipe grease from my hands to answer the call - Don't be rude and hang up after 2 rings. If you call and hang up, it is a waste of my time - that will make me very unhappy, you will get nowhere. I don't call back either, that wastes more of my time and money on a phone call I did not need.

I used to give money to worthy causes that rang. I don't know if these people have a "soft touch" list that they hand around, but suddenly my phone was ringing all the time. I give nothing over the phone any more. I wish everyone would do the same. Then we might get some peace.

We are NOT scammers, we are a legitimate fund raiser for Queensland Rural fire brigades and their volunteers. Please treat us kindly, the reason for the pause is that our calls are on a automatic dialer system and that is out of our control, but we raise funds for ALL brigades across Queensland, so if anyone wants to donate to their local Brigade we can pass on 100% of your donation to them and provide you with a tax deductable receipt. But the Art Union is a lottery and our organisation complies to all government regulations, and art unions are not tax deductable. Our call centre is based in Gympie.

Businesses cannot be on do not call register.......they should NOT hang up as soon as we say our business name.....it is just down right rude. Pretty sure they wouldn't like it happening to them. Yes, they may be a charity, but there is no need for rudeness. So Bob, you can rant all you like, it is not doing them any favours for their charity. As a business owner, it is not the way to get ppl to want to donate, or indeed, help out in any way.

Call Centre asking for donations to a rural fire brigade. Usually on my mobile so it is now on the reject list.

These people might have a valid reason for ringing but I don't see a valid reason for calling me on both my home phone and mobile. That is pushing the boundaries towards harassment.

just had a call from this number hung up before i could say hello - i am on the do not call register too but they always seem to say they are not selling anything so they are ok to call much like the door knockers but they are still after money and I am not going to give my cc details to anyone over the phone unless i have called them and know who i am speaking too.

Someone from this number left a message on my answering machine about a taxi driver and a mobile phone. No idea what it was about.
