the do not call register can not block scam calls

Asked me how many metres I am paying for on my electricity bill. I explained that metres is a measurement of length and she asked again, yes how many metres is your electricity bill. I hung up.

Called at meal time claiming to be calling re Solar Rebate Scheme. When I said "Oh, for goodness sake" he hung up. Looks like a Queensland number but had that typical international call delay before he started to speak.

My husband got bombarded with calls last week - everyday and 2 or 3 call backs after he told them he wasn't interested. I answered on Thursday and explained that we had a do not call number then very loudly told her to F*** off. It's quiet so far this week :-P

Lets beat them at their own game.
Lie through your back teeth and say you are interested in solar. (I did this once)
Then they will tell you someone will call you in a a day or so.
Expect it could take two weeks to get that call from the Australian solar installer company.
Lie again appropriately so they will make a date for them to come all the way to your place only to find you already have solar.
Then they might not use a call centre to persistently waste your/our time.
I was polite to that company and stopped them coming but now I've run out of patience.
Another time I only asked them the name of their company and later looked on the Aus Business Names Register, but it had been cancelled.

It often calls, I put the phone in front of the TV or my barking dog.

Usual thing again yesterday-- no answer
BUT have had that solar company's call centre talk before and led them on about being interested. Result- "someone will call you in the next day or so".
Two weeks later that genuine Solar company called and I felt like letting them come all the way to our home only to find I have 36 panels already.
But I didn't have the heart to let it go further.

Try to get the name of the 'Solar Panel Company' (if there is one!) then Google the ACCC for a number, then report these pests to the ACCC OR SIMPLY PHONE THE POLICE.

Tried to tell me there was solar rebate scheme then when I said I wasn’t interested Indian man insisted I listen to what they have to offer. I said I’d google search the scheme and read about it which is when he asked me why don’t I go die. Wow!

At least half a dozen calls from this number every day at different times. Never leaves a message. I don't answer if I don't know the number. Finally googled it and found this site.

have had numerous calls from (07)9829264 - answer phone and there is silence on the other end for 3-5 seconds then they hang up. I am assuming the are part of the scam where if you ring back they charge your account as I can't see any other benefit for them to call then hang up. 3 times today they have called, the last time I answered and started yelling at them saying I was reporting them so we will see if they call back

why not get them talking, waste their time, particularly get the company's ACN number or name of company then report them to ACCC. There are probably many telemarketing companies who DATA SHARE with other companies. No such thing as 'security' anymore.

It seems being on the ‘do not call register’ has absolutely no impact these days! Received a call from this number asking me to confirm whether I had solar panels. 😡😡😡😡 Go.Away.

At 4.05pm received call from the phone number above. No one spoke, they hung up before I did. Obviously, it's a scam of some sort.

This number calls me at least 3 times a day , they all have Indian accents and insist they do not want to sell me anything just to check my eligibility for a Solar Rebate. Yesterday I pulled off the road and screamed into my phone but they stay calm and continue talking . If you try to call the number back from missed call it diverts to 6477332255 which I don't think is an Australian number.

Phoned at 5.30. Caller said they were from Solar Rebate Scheme. My husband said we have solar. The caller asked about the hot water. Husband said we have everything. Call ended
