Got a call today, i called back .. all I'm getting is busy

This is disgusting if they're stealing details from real estate agents - or if real estate agents are selling our details.

Something needs to be done about the real estate industry in Australia - you can read about their disgusting tactics on a site called 'Ethical Concerns in the Real Estate Industry - Jenman' (an Aussie site) by doing a google search for those exact words.

What they have to say about what goes on in Australia's real estate industry will turn your stomach and make you see red. Something must be done about these bastards and the more we spread the word about them, the sooner we can force the issue and expose them for what they are.

Put ad on Gumtree for something irresistibly cheap and use that annoying number lol.
Or write it on the back of toilet doors offering bj's lol.

Answered the call and the lady knew my first name then asked me if we were looking for a rental property in Rooty Hill (just so happens that we were looking recently but secured one last week with Richardson&Wrench Rooty Hill). I asked her where she got my number from and her words were "we got it from the real estate". I asked her where she was calling from and she hung up. When tried to call the number back it is busy.

Hangs up after a few seconds of silence when I answer

Told me she was calling me because I had applied for a rental in my area, which I had but had never given permission for anyone to contact me for utilities. When I asked her why she was calling me, she hung up.

Both myself and my wife were recently looking for a property using real estate.com but my wife never gave her details only me but we have both recieved calls from this number
We did put both of our details on two applications with real estate agents tho
That's the only way someone could've gotten both of our details

Having the same problem as others. I also was on realestate.com.au website and sent my number to an agent locally.

Now I am getting endless calls from the 07 number (which is queensland prefix and I'm in melbourne).

Unbelievably these nitwits tried to call me yet again (2nd time in two days). They left a msg so I rang messagebank to see what they had to say for themselves...it was a yank voice (or a Filipino dude - they usually sound like yanks) saying, "Hello <insert first name here> I'm from GD Satisfaction, how are you today?"

Because there's nothing to tell anyone they've gone directly to my message bank (I never bothered with that part when I set up my phone), he hung up when he didn't get a reply.

Who the hell is GD Satisfaction? They don't exist. There's no such business in Australia with that name. Total scam.

At least we all know their number. I'm going to ring the TIO and ask them who I can complain to about these invasive calls and see if some sort of investigation can be done to find out who's giving out our private details to scamming businesses.

My details aren't on public record for exactly this reason - and now I want someone's hide for this.

Someone called me from this number asking if I was looking for a property, I said no and they said oh someone might have put you down us a reference. I said no. They apologised and said they would take my number off the list. They tried calling again tonight at dinner time! Someone needs to stop them. I'm blocking their call, hopefully that stops them harassing me!

I also had been using realestate.com.au until getting approved for a property last week. I just had a call from an American sounding fella. I said hello about three times before he replied with hello and stated my name. I said why are you calling off a qld number I don't even live in that state,nice try. He then said have a good day and hung up. Bloody scammers!

Had two voicemails left by an asian man from this number. He had my full name. I have also been looking on realestate.com.au

Same here, been using realestate.com and now getting calls twice a day from this number, haven't answered as I've been busy or at work when they've called. Does blocking the number work?

Yes I agree with all below. They are definately related somehow to looking at realestate.com.au. Managed now to block on my phone.
