I was asked if I had Solar Panels as I may be eligible for a Gov rebate (lucky me!). When I answered "yes" they said have a good day & hung up. Obviously telemarketing for Solar companys.

Just had the second call today & it is only 10.30am but I wanted to explain to Julia something about the Do Not Call Register. The loophole that allows them to call you is that they have to subscribe to the register themselves stating that they won't call persons who don't want to be called. Legitimate businesses such as Telstra, Red Cross, Salvation Army all subscribe but the shonky ones don't so there is nought that the govt. can do. It is strictly voluntary to subscribe & why would they?

I repeatedly get this bloody mob calling me. I have complained a number of times to the 'Do Not Call Register'. How do we police this? What is the Australian Federal Govt doing about these nuisance calls? Most likely nothing because we do not want to cause issue with our Asian neighbours in case we are called 'Racist'. f*ck OFF I say.

I just got a call from this number re solar panels. I told him I was just going to hang up as earlier in the day I got another call from Indian accent Jack Anderson from a different number saying he was from federal government reclaims re bank fees, he wanted my date of birth so he could send me out a cheque. So I asked him for all his details & he hung up lol. So over these useless phone calls.

They called my home number which I do not give out to anyone. I have a diversion in place that lands on my mobile which allows me to see their phone numbers (doing this has reduced the number of telemarketer calls that I receive). The caller said she was calling on behalf of the Federal Government and she wanted to know if I had solar panels on my house. This is the second time in a week that I have received calls about solar panels, both from different phone numbers. Both times I've asked to be removed from their list and to stop calling me.

Just had a call from this number and when I answered after three seconds it hung up. So curiosity got the better of me and I tried to ring it back. "your call cannot be connected" was the message I received.

Same here. I call back and it 'cannot be connected'. Perhaps it's a VOIP number...
Wendy

Pigmy1942
It is an overseas number according to my caller ID. I have missed two calls in the last 2days.

so annoying, it's some solar federal government .... blah blah blah indian accent, the usual!
Kenny
This number rings and then no one answers. I call it back and its not connected. How does that work ??
Maree
I received this call and then called back but it was "disconnected". 07 is a Queensland number and I have friends family in this State. So to have a call like this can cause concern, not knowing if someone is in trouble.
