This individual claimed he was calling from the technical department of Telstra about a problem with my internet. I told him I had no problem and did not know what he was talking about and not to call back. He seemed reluctant to accept that that was the end of the conversation. I have had other unsolicited calls from people claiming to be calling from Telstra’s internet department about supposed problems with my internet and using numbers similar to those belonging to other people. I reported the fist one to Telsra. They checked my account and assured me that the call had not come from them and that they did not make unsolicited calls to people about internet problems.
On this basis I would say this was just another scam call.
