I bought a Telstra "Call Guardian" telephone, three years ago, and since then, no unwanted calls have reached me. When my telephone rings, I am 100% certain that the call is from a friend, relative or business associate.

Caller: (07) 3905 2625 Rang about 9.25am tuesday 6 aug, i looked up the number, and it brought ,e here. Have never even heard of pcyc, so why are they calling me?

Caller: (07) 3905 2625 published 09 Jun 2018 Picture and Story provided by Amanda Paterson Community PHONE CALL HOAX WARNING We are saddened to alert that someone is calling people in Bourke and Sydney with a message that “the government has pulled the funding they have promised Bourke, Walgett and Dubbo, so can you please donate to PCYC”. PCYC, want to ensure and get the word out, that this is not the case, and that these calls are not from PCYC or any authorised parties. If anyone receives these calls please ask some questions to get more details of the perpetrator. Questions such as: Can you confirm your name please? Can you confirm who you work for? What is your contact number I can call you back on? Please report this to the Police immediately with your findings. In spite of this, we do have an authorised telemarketing partner who is One Contact. They will not be cold calling regarding this funding. We are a charity empowering young people and we do need to sustain donations to allow our mission-focused activities to be funded. We are deeply upset about this as it undermines our charitable purpose and our brand. Please pass the word onto your family and friends to be cautious about these phone calls.

Caller: I hope PCYC 39052625 Rang my number this morning at 9.39am. No voicemail left where PCYC have before and appeared to be genuine. I received my receipt in the mail as well as email when donating previously but I just block all Unknown numbers.

Restrictions PCYC Queensland is a respected and trusted charitable not-for-profit and will not approve ■ Fundraising events or activities that may bring the PCYC Queensland name into disrepute ■ Fundraising events or activities that promote a high level of personal or public risk or could be interpreted as offensive ■ Fundraising activities that include telemarketing and/or major door knocking appeals ■ Fundraising collections taking place in public places such as shopping centres or public transport unless you have received and provided copies of the relevant permission and/or permits.

PHONE CALL HOAX WARNING
