Urgent - Do not go to Hodgson's Auto Repairs, 74a Farrington St, Alderley QLD for any mechanical work. Please read this in full and it will explain how deadly it can be to your family and any other motorist on the road near you. I recently took my car to Bob Jane Tmart at Keperra and got 4 new tyres put on, 2 days later we realised that they had snapped a wheel stud. We took it back to them to get it replaced and that took 2 weeks, seems like everyone forgot to order it in. Monday just gone I took it back as they had finally got the wheel stud in and I was told it would have to go to their mechanic to fix as being front wheel drive and they were not set up to do it. So I though ok, all day Monday it was at their mechanics, I got it back thinking it had been fixed and everything was good. All day Tuesday I used it to drive around and run errands with my 3 children. Wednesday morning it went in to my regular mechanic for its routine service. He rang me and asked if anyone had recently worked on my car and I told him about the wheel stud debacle. He then went on to explain that if I had not taken my car in that morning for its service we would at the very least been in a very serious car accident, possibly killing my family and anyone else we may have ran into. The front right hand lower control arm was literally hanging on by a thread. One bolt was missing completely, one nut was missing and the last nut was holding on by a thread, it would have dropped off and I would have not had any control over the car. If I had of driven my car that day and not taking it in for a service we probably would not be here. My mechanic was shocked and horrified and took the attached photo. I went to Bob Jane Tmart this morning and they were as horrified as I was, and I doubt they will be using Hodgson's Auto Repairs ever again, the manager at Bob Jane was worried because they were working on his car today. I then went to Hodgson's Auto Repairs this morning and asked who worked on my car, to my absolute horror it was the boss not some inexperienced apprentice. The mechanic (I use this term very loosely for this man) said he was rushed and trying to save money, I could not believe my ears, I took my 3 kids in with me and told him to look at their faces because he could have killed them, he just kept saying ok, I was so angry and had tears in my eyes and here was this man just saying ok, he then had the hide to ask me if there was anything he could do for me, I said are you kidding me I would not want you touching anything of mine. I told him I was going to make sure people find out so no other family was put at risk, and all he said was excellent, it took all my might to walk away and not punch him in the face. So please if you live in Brisbane and on the Northside please share this with your friends and family, and think to ask who is doing your work if it through someone else. This man should be closed down!!
