Reading the comments from others if this is a legit call, why not leave a message when I didn't answer?

This is a LEGITIMATE call from a LEGITIMATE phone number here in Australia, in Queensland in fact. It is the call centre for the Suncorp Group which comprises multiple bank brands and insurance companies including AAMI. We made a claim at the start of January this year and they have phoned myself and my wife a few times now as have we phoned them too. Our calls were to follow up on when we would see the claim paid so it is definitely a legitimate number. A quick phone call back to it will confirm your concerns, believe me - I was very cautious also to give my personal details the first time. You can always get them to email you if your concerned too. 😉

Male indian caller @8.38 am. Claming to be from GIO Motor insurance. He wanted ro discuss "a matter" with me but need to verify my personal details first. I hung up. If this is a ligit number how many different insurances are under one roof there/ do they represent? This is at least some kind of call centre wanting your business = money. One way or another.

GIO as well as AAMI, Shannons, APIA, Vero, Bingle and Suncorp are all owned by Suncorp. Its not a scam. If you have been involved in a motor accident they will contact you to discuss the claim. They are not trying to get your personal details. They already have them; supplied by their clients when they lodge their claim. They are only verifying the information they already have in order to ID you to the matter. This is normal process for any business that deals with private information and is governed by Australian Privacy Law.

Above reviews are very confusing with some saying it’s legit and others saying it’s a scam call.

Yes this is a Suncorp number but it has been spoofed by scammers. I have received multiple calls from this number asking for my banking credentials. A bank does not ring you to ask for your Customer ID and password. BEWARE OF SCAMMERS
