Got a call, claimed to be Suncorp. I asked what the call is in relation to as they needed to confirm my identity, told them not comfortable to disclose my details if they cannot tell me what the call is in relation to, said they’ll send an email instead. Received email, looked legit, called Suncorp directly, 15 min wait time. Why can’t they just disclose the reason for the call upfront, would save a lot of wasted time!

A straight out scam from persons claiming to be employees of an insurance company and who want "help you". They ask you for a whole range of personal ID info. People who have lodged a legitimate claim with an Australian insurance company are particularly vulnerable to this type of scam since by handing over their personal ID info they think they are advancing their claim. They're advancing the interests of these scamsters. As the ACCC and ScamWatch advises:- Hang Up.

Left a voicemail message to phone 1300 102 791. Starts as recorded message but doesn't identify who they are. They then ask for personal details. Be very wary!

Caller: AAMI car insurance

It was a legitimate call from AAMI regarding a claim I made - possibly off shore, but to organise the rental car for the period my damaged car was being repaired.

Caller: CIL insurance

Was a legit call from insurance company, although I didn't answer, because I don't deal with these matters by phone (impossible to refer back to later). They emailed me a few minutes later.

the Indian accent woman said she is from AMMI, asked my personal details -no; car model and plate - no... then hang up said she might email me...

called and said were from AAMI
said it was with regards to my current car insurance claim, i did not make a claim recently
started asking for my personal details, i hung up

Suncorp group insurance regarding policy. No issue with number

Caller: Said they were from AAMI insurance.

Asked for personal details. Like a fool I started giving them then got suspicious and asked what it was about. Caller advised that he could give no further details without my personal details so I rang off.

Caller: Most likely scammer team

Gonna go with later and say my missed call is part of a new clever scam from India. Using females to have a psychological impact on you. Also no idea how they have access to my info or cookies?

They said they were Gio but hung up when I asked them to detail the claim. I am connected to a Gio claim but they knew nothing of my details and were fishing. Australian voice.
